On paper, Orlando has more depth than last year; but this roster cannot score.

And we knew that last season...Adding Aminu, if they had ever scouted him beforehand, doesn’t change that in the slightest.

We have Aminu locked for some time, i think our roster will change sigificantly during his tenure. With the rise of offensive forwards his defense always will be in demand
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

But....wingspan. Aminu is a fine player, but he isn't nearly as effective without a star guard. Cliff allowing guys like MCW and Aminu to look for their own shot is just really poor offensive coaching.

considering Jerian Grant and Briscoe were part of that depth it wasn't really that hard to fix. Like you said this roster cannot score and until then we will continue to have many head scratching L's
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Kind of a bad justification considering how poor this team is offensively. Bench-depth-defensive-oriented-big wasn’t really the glaring hole this team needed moving forward. Yes, you are right that the roster can change. I’ll be waiting for the FO to make their first big trade since being hired.

And before you try to justify that last statement with Fultz. No, trading JSimmons wasn’t moving a cornerstone piece that was of any real risk.

I think the real problem was not admiting AG is PF and Isaac is PF. Its not even position but role on offense and defense. JI is better individual defender, better team defender, better shooter and better decision maker. For some reason Weltman/ Clifford didnt want to admit one of AG/JI should be benched. This year we see JI is all we wanted from AG last year. All in all AG is on a good contract and is asset for our team so Weltman did his job right. Now he must find good trade to balance the roster.

The better JI plays, and the more inconsistent AG appears (per usual), the writing on the wall for a trade seems clearer. IMO the trio of JI,AG, AND Fournier doesn’t work. Especially not with a pg capable of stretching the floor. That issue could be solved with one good trade. We will find out.

Yeah but Fultz initiates the offense much better than DJ. DJ will drive around the basket and frantically pass out. At least with Fultz you know he is either going to take it strong to throw lob in the paint for Bamba, Isaac or AG.

Oh yea I agree with that...just saying Fultz was also getting torched...as was Fournier.

The refs were allowing some really questionable Sabonis screens + our back line rotations on PnR's were absolutely terrible. Vucevic conceded a mid ranger and on PnR's he stepped into their ball handler they found Sabonis or an open cutter wide open.
Let's be honest Vucevic concedes almost everything but the defensive rebound.

If we’re being honest, that’s not accurate.

He’s a good team defender and is very rarely out of position. He doesn’t commit bad fouls and is a good rebounder + excellent at box outs. He is also a big and long body filling up the lane. All that is way more important to a good defense than a guy who chases highlight blocks.
