Re: NBA Trade Thread
I want Jonathan Isaac (as a replacement for Lauri). He's being played out of position in Orlando and he and Gordon aren't good fits, both being more 4s than 3s. So I think that when he gets to being a full time 4 he will eventually bust out into a very capable player - not a dominant alpha scorer but a versatile scorer who gives you near 20 within the flow of a game, without dominating the ball, while also giving you outstanding defense.
Not sure what it would take to get him, though. They really need to re-balance that team in Orlando. Tons of talent but lots of ill-fitting pieces.

He would be a really good target. Doubt Orlando would be interested though. Would trade any but WCJ for him. I would try something based around Lavine and see if they bite. Isaac and Carter Jr would give the Bulls pretty incredible rim protection.

I would max Jonathan Isaac in 2 summers.
I really doubt Orlando let's him go though.

He's a stud. Can be a top 5 defensive player in the league coupled with an efficient complementary game (with 3-point range). That's max worthy.

I would too (also doubt he'd be let go)

I mentioned him as a trade target for Lauri. ORL doesn’t need another PF but maybe they’d bite or do a 3 way

Re: NBA Trade Thread
I think it's too early to move either Zach or Lauri, but especially Lauri, and I'm disheartened at how many people seem to be in such a hurry to move him. I'm simply not ready to give up on him.
LaVine on the other hand, while I think it's premature, it makes more sense to think about moving because he may have some value on the market, he may be hurting the team with his tendency to hold the ball, and if you think Coby is more of a SG than a PG, than a decision will have to be made at some point.
That said, I honestly have thought about it and don't see a whole lot of trades for Zach at the moment that would be worth it. I did have one idea though, but it's one that could be argued to be either good or terrible for both teams involved. It wouldn't be a 'let's try to make the playoffs' move, it would be a 'let's buy time and think long-term' kind of deal. Perhaps akin to a Brand-for-Chandler type of thing.
Cleveland have had a surprisingly not-terrible start, currently at #6 in the East. Love and Tristan have been playing well and, given that those would both be difficult contracts to move, and given the weakness of the East after the top 3 or 4 seeds, they might think about trying to solidify their playoff aspirations. Additionally, Darius Garland has finally played fairly decently his last two games. So the idea that's been in my head is this:
LaVine, Dunn
for
Garland, Kevin Porter Jr., and Brandon Knight
Brandon Knight is expiring and probably has zero value to the Cavs(not even playing) right now, so he makes sense as the filler. We'd waive him immediately.
For us, this would just be taking a gamble on two projects while increasing our cap flexibility and moving further away from any scenario where we'd be capped out.
Coby would be the new SG. Sato would probably initially still start at PG, but eventually you'd hope Garland takes the job. Kevin Porter could develop into wing depth.
The hope is that Garland/Coby could be a backcourt of the future, that without Zach the ball movement would improve and other guys(Lauri, Carter, etc) would look better as a result. And we'd have ample cap flexibility going forward.
Carter / Kornet / Gafford
Lauri / Thad
Otto / Hutch
Coby / Sato / K.Porter
Sato / Garland / Arci
For Cleveland, they'd look like this:
Tristan / Nance / Henson
Love / Nance
Cedi / McKinnie
LaVine / Clarkson
Sexton / Delly / Dunn
If they want to be a lower seed playoff team this year, this might make sense - to alleviate their PG logjam and add a 20ppg potential all-star SG without losing any of their frontcourt tandem. They do give up some cap flexibility by giving Knight up, but to them it might be worth it.
I don't know, I'm far from sold on the idea. It's intriguing to me, but I certainly would understand arguments that it's a step backwards for us, or that Cleveland wouldn't want to give up future prospects for short-term gain.

CJ-Collins for LaVine-Lauri
Does this trade work for the Bulls (if Zach Collins is healthy)?
1: White
2: CJ
3: OPJ
4: Carter
5: Collins
Could CJ be an all star in the ECF?

Merged this into our trade thread considering it's not an actual rumor or anything.

Re: NBA Trade Thread
Sixers need shooting. Could anyone see a D'Angelo Russell for Ben Simmons trade? Would have to be added pieces to make the money work. I don't know salary cap stuff. That's why I come here.
I think both Russell and Simmons, and their respective teams, would benefit.
