Wait, did we lost? I was sure we won by 10 points with a poor shooting night. Imagine on a good shooting night.

I've got a bad feeling about Sham, if he returns in under a month I'm celebrating. Jerome will get another (maybe last) real shot to prove that he belongs.
Game ball goes to McGruder for making his first basket as a Clipper!

Doc outschemed them
DOC: We put 4 bigs on the floor. I think they scored 10 points in the 4th quarter. [They did.] We never put that lineup out before. This was another one of those defensive wins we've been talking about...
Yup. Toronto scored 10 points in the 4th. WTF??? 10 points? Doc [and his staff] at their peak right now, I think. Turned it all around on TOR, not just asking for a Lou/Kawhi 40-point quarter again.
Sweet win. And frankly, they missed Ibaka a little but I think they're a better team without Lowry.

And if you thought that was wild, wait til you hear this: Clippers were 2nd (!) in 3-point percentage last year (0.388). Without an All-Star.
Jesus. That's terrible. Almost as bad as the lakers. But They'll get it together.
That's not recipe for winning championships unless it's the golden State warriors. They need to stop relying on 4th quarter heroicsWammy Giveaway wrote:NippySudz wrote:Wammy Giveaway wrote:Clippers have turned into Grizzlies west: excluding today's game, they are 22nd in 3P-shooting percentage. Not necessarily. They could be cold in first 3 quarters, but in 4th, clutch and in a Sudden Death Shot situation, they could be hot. So long as they make the shots necessary to prevent a blowout outcome or to win the game, they should be fine. We should be seeing more of these...
And these...
And these...
Oh yeah, don't forget this...
But to become Kelly Clarkson, to become champions, to defeat the Lakers in a playoff series to break the curse, they'll need to be Grizzlies-esque.

When was the last time we had a good shooting night? Last night marks the 5th game in a row basically of horribly clunky offense. At a certain point it's not just a fluke bad game. The lineups Doc is using obviously doesn't help. PG is going to have a HUGE load to carry right out of the gate if we are going to continue shooting 25% from 3 every game. Since the first 3 games I believe we've gone from 1st ranked offense by a landslide down to 28th. The defense though has been elite at least, which is the one positive.

McGruder might get a boost of playing time with Shamet out
Jesus, do you not realize it's the first ten games of the season with new pieces being implemented?ClipsFanSince98 wrote:hawkfire wrote:nickhx2 wrote:a game like tonight makes for a lot of concerns about the team.

The guy had a few open shots that he passed up because he didn't feel comfortable taking them. He better not do that in the playoffs. Pass to a contested harkless even though you had the open lane .

They're not winning the playoffs right now m it's going to take time to implement want they want. Judge near asb.

I do agree. They depend on Leonard to much and I don't like that. They do need some movement and skip the ball around in my opinion. It'll probably be good to get a third playmaker (Lou is one)but I'm excited to see what they can do with two superstars in the lineup. I'm hoping the offense will run a little better.nickhx2 wrote:NippySudz wrote:Jesus, do you not realize it's the first ten games of the season with new pieces being implemented?ClipsFanSince98 wrote:

yeah don't you know? it's those absolutely disgusting doc lineups that cause the team to shoot poorly.
absolutely.
disgusting.
anyway, jesting aside, the team played against a surprisingly strong raps squad. as i mentioned in other discussion, i'm just worried that putting it all on one guy might be too much. there are things that i'm not sure he can fix just by being on the court. like for example, i think i'd just feel better if there were a little more structure on getting the shooters open, as a whole.
times like this i miss having cp3 run a play that gets jj redick off a curl into a perfectly open three.
