There's a separate thread on Middleton now up
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Well, here we go. We went without Brogdon last season and didnt miss a beat. Now we are going to find out how important Middleton is.

This is going to pump Giannis's point production a bit and add to the narrative that he's doing more for his team than anyone in the league.

Maybe this keeps Khris fresh for the playoffs.

It is very interesting how quickly the national media perception of the Bucks shifted after four straight losses to the Raptors.

Before those losses: Historical juggernaut, likely to make Finals and give GSW a strong series

After: One-man team, with an ability to shut down the one-man. 2009-2010 Cleveland Cavalier paper tigers.

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I doubt it, but if Olshey remains set on dying on the Lillard/McCollum hill, I wonder if it would be possible to pry away Simons? I'd trade DJ + IND 1st at bare minimum in a heartbeat, but tough to gauge his trade value.

This is what happens when the Bucks don't play. This stupid ****ing thing took me almost 3 hours and was freaking impossible. Thought it was going to be way bigger....but still, worth it.

Keep coming back to Wilson/Robin for Bertans. Makes us way better and makes sense for the Wiz.

I kind of feel like the lesson of the Mirotic trade is that a flamethrower who naturally fits best at the 4 is the least useful kind of flamethrower. Is Detroit eager to commit to Kennard?

Also I still would have kept Mirotic and would be happy to add Bertans for cheap.

We're still paying him so at least there's that.

Was it really a lesson or did Mirotic just get injured and miss big shots when it mattered? It wasn’t like our defense got crushed with him in.

I always felt like part of Niko’s problem was that he felt like he could/should be doing more than his role with the Bucks dictated, so when it came time for him to be just a catch and shoot player he was all in his head. In my view that became evident when he peaced on the NBA all together to get all the touches he can handle in Spain. Think about all those wide open threes Robin’s bricking going to either Bertans or Ersan. Feel like Giannis/Bertas/Ersan lineups could do some damage at times. Korver/Bertans/Giannis is almost unfair. But yeah, perfect world we get a wing sniper.

Mirotic was a great fit but his shooting went cold. That's all. If we can get another Mirotic this year we should absolutely do it. One 15-18 first rounder has to be better than 4 seconds, right?

I just wish we had better passers. I feel like we are losing a small but significant chunk of Giannis's scoring potential due to him being surrounded by guys who cant seem to figure out how to loft a ball to a guy who is 6'11" and has a 7 foot wingspan and runs like a gazelle.

Yeah, that may be my biggest pet peeve when watching the bucks.

What does Bertans add that Ersan doesn't? I'm legit curious, I don't know much about him.
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

He has what Horst has talked about identifying as “four point range.” Insane quick trigger, can put it on the floor a little off pump fake but not someone you want with the ball in their hands. Smart player, adequate team defender. Struggles with all the things Blonde euros stereotypically struggle with but he’s not a complete embarrassment defensively. On a different level than Ilyasovsa as a shooter, though Ersan is bigger, stronger and plays with more physicality. Think they could thrive together the way Ersan and Saric did a few years back.

Mirotic was soft as hell, too. He couldn't box out or defend another big to save his life. Teams with quality bigs like the Raptors just made him entirely irrelevant.

Didnt Bertans have an insane % from 3 when he was on the spurs?

Edit: It was 43% on 4,5 attempts per game and this year he is shooting almost 45% on 7 attempts per game.

For comparison Mirotic is a career 36% 3point shooter.

Bertans is also way more consistent/less streaky than Mirotic. Better fit for that role than Niko in my opinion.
