Indeed. I think it will be hard to blackball him though because he's really good.
have you read this article ? they're scared of the revenue loss. he's basically been cancelled by china. nobody there wants anything to do with him. if you're another owner, why risk hiring him ? nobody is more important than money. this is america after all.

The Chinese way on free speech and censorship is so different from ours and it should not be courted or countenanced. Where does the NBA draw the line? If the Chinese start shooting the protesters or running them over with tanks will it be ok for Morey to speak then? How about they start mass arresting them and leaving them in jail with show trials and long prison sentences? Can he speak then?
What if there is an International Chinese basketball official sexual harassment scandal involving an American? Do we have to pretend it didn't happen? Seriously, wtf, this was an easy opportunity to show we do business to our standards not theirs. Give in now and the demands will just increase. We should have remained silent on Morey and taken the L on the business side. We are letting the Chinese dictate our behavior just like they dictate Chinese behavior. It's not my money, I get that. But they also run the potential of injuring their brand here in the U.S.
it's not even really about the chinese, it's about anything that gets in the way of the money. that's just the way of business. if enough people here cared about hong kong enough to boycott the nba and hurt their bottom line here in this country then they would have took a stand. not because it's the right thing to do but because it's costing them more than looking the other way. but besides from some tweets nobody really cared to do anything. it's sad but true.
