Yeah I almost started something but it seems like we'd struggle to get to double digits at the moment.

Why not start it and if we don't get the players we can take the break then? I'm getting restless lol

Would be a few hours before I can start anything. In the meantime can you work off some of that restlessness by voting in the current game?

Just realised how close we are to the season. If we want to do the prediction draft again it will have to be within the next couple of days.

Never 2000s game - can never have played a game in the 00-09 range. Would be a weird mix of old school and new school

Could also do an unrestricted next to boost traffic

I don't know if anything short of a cash prize will boost traffic at the moment...

I think it's been long enough, we should be able to get a game going now.

We can't even finish the current game and that one is first to three votes.

Whoever wants to give it a shot can knock themselves out though. I'm done running these.

Wonder where 8on is, you'd think he'd be on the general board hyping up the Suns

Need new members - it becomes kind of boring if it's the same people, and the same drafts....

Also, need some element of surprise - like in fantasy draft betting, the winner is decided the next day by the players themselves.

I like the prediction draft, but waiting one year is a bit too long, and one day drafts are too susceptible to who is 'feeling it' that night. Need something like 1 month/2week fantasy betting

There's nothing to be done if a bunch of regulars are feeling bored or burnt out. That happens from time to time, and when it does we get stuck with mostly the same people for a while (as opposed to maybe five or six different players rotating in for each game). However, it gets very frustrating when you do a draft where 12 people sign up and half of them stop giving a **** after the rankings are done, forcing you to waste time begging for votes. It's why I'm now very reluctant to join a game with low numbers.

sabotage draft

were you draft one guy and choose another player that can't be selected by anyone

so for example

Drafter one drafts Lebron James and at the same time puts Michael Jordan on the ban list
drafter two can't draft Jordan so he drafts Magic Johnson and puts Tim Duncan on the ban list

maybe in third round and till the end we could draft one guy per turn and put two guys on the ban list

I think it could spice these games up were you can screw someone over in a fun way.
you see an expensive monster team being formed and the team needs cheap Pf. you draft your player and put Rodman on the ban list

kind of screwing him over

it would also change the way guys draft a bit, sometimes you wait to draft your allstar center because you know everyone has their center and are not looking to add another center to their squat. Now you don't have that luxury to wait because someone might put the center on the ban list

This is an interesting idea. Without delving too deep, the first thing that jumps out is that there would have to be some restrictions with regards to the banned player. Being able to take LeBron and block MJ at the same time is a huge advantage, and the same is true for the first handful of picks.

Ye that's a good point. Maybe in the first round you can only draft one guy but in the remaining rounds you can start adding guys to the ban list

I'm interested in this

One strategy wrinkle is that you could choose to punt your cancel by banning scrubs like Bennett

Yea but by banning players it makes the pool by end of Rd 2 worse which hurts the person who picked Lebron and cancelled Jordan. I am ok with everyone being bannable.

I want to set up a game with a panel of judges. Not us voting on us.

I'm a newcomer. Has anyone ever tried to do a live draft on discord? I didn't expect the drafting process to drag on for so long.
