KHYRI

Post#1 » by DCintheD » Mon Feb 25, 2019 5:51 pm

when will this kid get his chance? I hated the Ellington signing mainly for him. Give this kid a chance to boost his confidence. I have more faith in him than I do in Brown. The two of them together could be our next pitbull duo.

I hoping a silver lining from our inevitable playoff flop will be this kid getting his chance to do something like Tayshaun did back in 03 vs. Philly.

He has been getting chances here and there but every time he is in he misses almost all of his shots. Casey went to him in the first half of the MIA game and he missed 2 open 3s so Casey then went to Galloway in the second half instead. I also would like to see him get some more consistent minutes instead of someone like Galloway.

he's probly not comfortable cuz we have so many guards ahead of him. his confidence isnt there yet. I'd love if Ellington were waived. and if LG would just go away.

We're trying to make the playoffs. We're already starting a rookie and developing Luke. We aren't going to roll with all 1st and second year players at the wing positions. That's just the reality of going the not-tanking route.

I like Thomas and all but waiving Ellington would be a mistake. He can be a solid weapon for us and we desperately need his shooting. Thomas has had several chances to establish himself before Ellington even got here and he hasn't done it. I would rather cut Galloway out and cut back a bit on Brown's minutes so that Kennard is getting 30mpg every night, Ellington is getting 20-25mpg, and Thomas is getting maybe 10mpg so he can at least develop some consistency in the rotation.

I don't think Khyri and Svi will see much floor time during the push for the playoffs. Going through at least one playoff series will be good for many of the players that haven't experienced that level of intensity. Another summer league and training camp and Ellington gone to free agency will help those who earn it get decent minutes next year.

Kid will get his chance in blowouts. If he wants more minutes than that, he has to earn them.

Read on Twitter

Its looking more and more likely Thomas will never be in Detoit's plans.

On a side note, I went to both games in Indiana this season and in both the pre-game shoot arounds Khyri was shagging for other players. Not sure how much to read in between the lines with that, but I've been to many, many NBA games and Khyri is the first player I've ever seen shagging for other players.

Best of luck to him, but he's shown nothing to suggest he's an NBA player.

He's shown he can hit the nba 3 in g-league and summer league games. He hasn't gotten a legit shot in the NBA.

I get the feeling he'll do well the moment he's no longer a Piston. *sigh*

If literally any NBA GM thought that, we would have dealt him and kept Joe Johnson.
