I knew he'd be a project and even then at best i saw a Morris twin or homeless Tobias Harris type of player but this is "whoa" worthy. give it time to see how he develops. But does this have Nassir Little a year ago written on it to anybody else?

Im going to go back about a decade, not saying they play alike but Samardo Samuels. He was a top 5 high school recruit and I remember him going to Louisville and right away it was pretty clear, either than being 6'9 what does this dude do? Ended up staying at Louisville for 2 years then went undrafted.

Actually as I was typing this out. Now I know really who he reminds me of, Alex Poythress. Much more similar players in my opinion and also right when you watch him, you think to yourself, either than being tall and high school ranking, nothing about this guys screams NBA.

And-1 for the Samardo Samuels reference alone.

Agreed, that's why I said Embiid is clearly more skilled. I just used it as an opportunity to note that I'm not judging Wiseman based on how well – or whether – you can let your offense through him, because I wouldn't even want to have my offense run through a player like Embiid (who is better equipped to create with the ball in his hands).

well yea, but my point on you have to run plays to get Wiseman involved, like you have to get him involved via lobs and PnRs, while a guy like Embiid you can just throw him the ball on the block and let him work, but can also knock down outside Js too...

i'm not saying this because I am expecting him to be Embiid, i'm saying it to highlight a big likat that isn't necessarily that valuable today, especially if he's not gonna be a great defender on the other side (where we disagree probably).

Lol what kind of nonsense is this. You should be running pick-and-rolls regardless, and which player they 'involve' is entirely a function of how it's defended. Embiid would be running more pick-and-rolls if he played with a point guard who could actually shoot - posting up is a last resort when it comes to efficient offense.

Got around to watching the Zona vs Illinois game last night. My boy Nico had that floater working for him. I just love the kids game. I think he ends up late lotto but people will be wondering why he didn't go sooner. I just love the way that guy plays the game.

Also i see my guy Chase hasn't improved at all since leaving Duke haha.

That's a big handicap. It took Scalabrine from all time great to what he became.

Oh man on Duke boards the Chase Jeter hill was the hill I was willing to die on haha. The Chase vs Bolden debates between Duke fans was like a war sometimes.

I think it's safe to say, both sides lost on that one haha.

I don't like the energy in that "what he became" statement, as if White Mamba didn't reach G.O.A.T level regardless.

Don't see anyway he makes an NBA team. Zero range, horrible rebounder, can't guard the PnR. I think he got an extended look this summer because his size and potential shot blocking. But just not a player for today's NBA.

I haven't seen that much of Oturu to really know him but his defensive awareness (and in some cases perhaps effort) has been terrible at times, didn't know how to rotate at all. There's potential for sure, but lottery feels rich. With Okoro it depends on his shot. If he can be somewhat reliable in this regard, I'd agree that lottery is in play for him.

just hit me that I've never had the chance to legit ask you guys as G-State fans who you'd take (not in a situation where it would matter) so i might be all over your team's draft board this year lol.

it's such a terrible year to tank tbh, last year we had Zion next year we have a bunch of elite wings it looks like, but this year not a lot of top tier talent and the top tier talent is at positions we don't need

for me, I want to trade down grab an extra pick and take a combination of Lewis/Haliburton, but a lot depends on where we are in the draft and which prospects drop/fall...

Ya this would be the year to trade down, its a crappy year to tank. If there was a guy I would like them to pick say 5-10, Jaden McDaniels wouldn't bother me. But I do think trading down or trading it for a legit player would be the smarter move.
