Interesting clock and foul management, at the end of this game.

Nice to be watching basketball again. I might have watched 20 NBA games last year. Now here I am watching the D-League again.
It's going to be a good year.

Starting to get concerned about Langford's durability/availability. Good thing he's like Tatum who's forever 19.

Anyone know if there is a reason Langford only played 7 minutes?

Rolled his ankle. He has the curse of being hyped by Slartibartfast (see Markelle Fultz for further victims).

Thanks. Perhaps you could start hyping LeBron and Embiid.

He was a force in the first half. On defense he totally changed the floor. Beyond the 5 blocks in that half, he altered many shots.
In the second half he moved just a bit slower, particularly getting up and down the court and it made all the difference. He was not in place for many plays because of this. Building conditioning is a process for him.

It's all about game speed for him, as he's acknowledged, including explicitly about the conditioning aspect. Other aspects surely include:
-- Post offense fast enough to beat an arriving double team.
-- PnR offense and defense alike.
-- Shot-blocking against crafty, quick finishers.
People obviously realize most of that, but it's possible that my last point has been somewhat overlooked.

if he has to switch on a pick and roll and the person he is on goes to the 3pt line he doesn't even bother moving towards that side of the court. In the Gleague and College, no biggie. in the nba he will get roasted by 3 pt shooters. That is what he has to work on. Right now he's just guarding the rim like he did in college and doing it really well.

He single handedly turned that game around though. Was a layup drill on Claws defense until he entered game. I feel like he has made a huge step forward since summer league. We could have used that against GSW at times the other night to be honest. Watching Gobert ( the best in NBA ) the other night however showed me how far he needs to go as far as mobility and quicker response time.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

he did turn it around, because in the dleague, guys don't all shoot 33% or better from 3, and higher wide open. in the nba they do. He will need to work on that to contribute to a real nba game.

I was impressed by Tacko. You are absolutely right that he altered many shots. Clearly he was intimidating. As for the rest of the game, it was painful to watch. A whole lot of chucking early in the shot clock, with no attempt at all to move the ball. Apparently everyone feels that their only chance for getting any NBA attention is to score the ball, resulting in very selfish play. Even Tremont was guilty of this, hoisting some very deep threes with no regard for the clock. Is this the kind of play the coaching staff is looking for?

Haven’t been able to watch hardly any of this due to awful feedback in the audio. Bush league.
