Also.. as far as stating Middleton can switch 1-5 defensively I mean as it relates to any given possession. Obviously I didn't mean playing the 5 or 1 on any regular basis

I understand we're having fun debating. That's what we do here.
But frankly I don't think you can expect more from Giannis that we're already getting. Can he "improve" in areas? Sure. But the guy is basically like Wilt or prime Kareem. If he doesn't win a title this year, I can't put it on him, I just can't. It's on the supporting cast, coaching and front office decisions.

Or there's just better teams we had no control over creating.

Way too simple minded to blame Midds not being a real #2 on Giannis.

nobody said that. we were the best team in the league with mids as our #2 and bled as the #3. thru the reg season and 2 playoff series in was a historical run for us.
then.... the ECF happened
Giannis .448/.333/.583 ts%.518
Middleton .411/.375./.769 ts%.521
Bledsoe .294/.172/.762 ts%.395
if anyone of those guys played like theyre capable then a true 1, 2, or 3 or whatever the **** that is or means they all have rings on their fingers.
We don't have to do anything different, with anyone different..... just the next time were in a series like that we either become the champion by playing like were capable of or lose to the champion by crapping the bed.
I believe some of this was on Bud too now but each of those guys had shots including FREE THROWS. its not like Buds system was making the entire Toronto arena mock us for missing those and I mean all 3 guys when I say that.
we got a good team. I believe in Giannis as he learns how to be a closer and Khris and Bled get back into that sitautiuon that we have enough. that's all I was saying

Losing to the Raps was not a case of just **** the bed (although a significant part). But we should give the Raps game plan some credit.

You're not entirely wrong here. Giannis needs to be better when the entire game plan of the opposition is to stop him. His efficency was awful but was by far the best defender in the series. Middleton's best scoreing game literally came in a blowout with no pressure on him. If he's as good as you think he would've taken better advantage of his situation.

Re: MIDDLETON OUT SEVERAL WEEKS
I have seen enough of Middleton since 2013.
Until now, he just hasn't shown the alpha dog mentality that a #2 player on a Championship team needs to have.
That is both on and off the court. The dude starts the season out of shape for several years.
And he stated for Giannis that back in years, "I wanted to take all Giannis minutes".
So that says a lot on his winning mentality, his approach on his teammates, etc.
He is a really good player, he has regressed alot cause of injuries, he is lucky that he is playing next to a SemiGod that needs shooters around him. I am not sure if he is better than Lue Williams or JJ Reddick or even Bojan. Know why ? Cause he hasn't show me the hunger to win games and a Championship.
Anyway he is who he is, we support him and the Bucks, and I wish he brings his A game this year, cause we really need him and we can win a Championship if he brings Career High Numbers.
So I would like to say, that everybody likes Khris as a player. I even said that we don't use him properly.
Our Coaches don't help him … but as I was writing it, … I remember Khris saying he didn't want to adjust his game to the Bucks system, and that he is not willing to give up his mid range game... maybe he said that cause he was on his contract year and he wanted to get paid as a superstar, well he did, its time for him to show up, and make us a better team, even if it means to give up his mid range fade aways and cruising on D.
We really need Bud and Khris to become more effective , they are both good but we need them to get better at everything in order to help Giannis and the Bucks to win a Ring. I am not optimistic about it , but they have my support.

wtf does this even mean? can you even quantify it? who was nowitzskis alpha dog? who was the alpha dog on the Celtics? who was kobes alpha dog once shaq left? who was duncans #2s for 5 teams over 15 years that won? who was the alpha or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or wtf ever does it even matter on the pistons teams that won and made deep runs for years?
this middelton narrative isn't even relevant. nobody here isn't suggesting we wouldn't rather have a superstar so why pretend your argument includes that scenario when it doesn't.
please debate how we get a hofer next to Giannis instead of complaining about the other all-star instead of the rest of the cast. even tho it wouldn't be practical at least it wouldn't be annoying and Middleton is part of the solution not the cause of any championship we somehow botch like we did last year

Why are you so obtuse? Are you really this stubborn? In order:
Dirk: Jason Terry was fearless and unafraid of the moment. He didn't turtle up and stop shooting when things weren't going his team's way. He took responsibility for winning and losing in a way Khris doesn't.
Celtics: not sure which incarnation you're speaking of, but Dennis Johnson hit and took big shots on the Bird Celtics
Kobe: Fisher and Robert Horry
Duncan: Manu and Parker and Horry
Pistons: Chauncey and Rip
2017-2019 Bucks: MALCOLM BROGDON.

The current NBA champions didn't really have a #2. It was a different guy every night and really a team effort.

exactly. theres the superteam championship style with the 2-3 stars and the scrubs and then there all the other types. im sick of this dialogue about how we have to have another hofer to win. its just not true

You said: "Hall of Famer"
He said: "alpha dog mentality".
Khris isn't a Hall of Famer.
Khris isn't an All-NBAer
Khris isn't really an All-Star.
But short of all that, he doesn't even have that Sam Cassell dog in him. It's a problem identified years ago. It's still true. True in the regular season, true in the playoffs, true in FIBA, true in college.

Lol "true in college". I feel pretty confident at this point discerning what the reason for your mouth-foaming Middleton hate rants is. Khris totally banged your GF at Texas A&M, didn't he? It all makes sense now....

Re: MIDDLETON OUT SEVERAL WEEKS
Would peg Middleton at about the 35th to 40th best player in the league. Would have no issues paying him 4/$100 last summer. That would have been a good contract.
But going to the other thread, I'd still watch the situation develop over the next 45-60 days with Middleton and Chris Paul. Paul's contract is bad. That said, Middleton has two more years than Paul, at $38 and $40 million. Those final two years will be likely dead money (i.e. Middleton will be down in the 80-100th best NBA player, but the team won't have flexibility to make moves due to his salary.
Can see by Christmas scenarios where people would want to try and swap Middleton for Paul, and scenarios where we wouldn't want to do that deal at all. Not sure how this breaks and who might step up with Midds out.
