I think I might be on the start Caruso bandwagon... I would love to see what he could do just simply swapping him for Bradley in the starting lineup. His ability to attack and dish I think could be really valuable.

The 3% is struggling right now because of spacing. It's not just that shots aren't falling, Lakers rank at the bottom for wide-open 3s and rank middle for open 3s. The Warriors game was based on spacing, not just that they had good shooters.

The spacing is poor because AD wants to play the 4, it's also the reason the defense is so good. To have both defense and better 3 shooting the Lakers need a stretch 5 or they need to make the defense collapse on the 4/5 they have to provide space for the 3s. That isn't happening. Both Dwight and McGee are taking half the amount of shots per 100 that they usually take. They aren't getting shots because drive and dish or drive and lob hasn't happened without a second PG that can do that.

Caruso building on this part of his game and starting is probably the closest answer.

The best answer is getting a stretch 5.

Mike Muscala or Kyle O'Quinn would be gettable. Baynes would be ideal but a steep price.

Meanwhile, Mo Wagner looks like he could become one of the best stretch 5s in the league.

Caruso is to hesitant and indecisive on offense for my liking. If he can clean that up we might have something.

See last ten games of previous season. He’s still inexperienced. New team mates, new coaches, new system, new defense. It will be easier for him to get used to it all if he started. Just a fraction more space and time is all he needs.

Once he thrives, his decisiveness will come back. I saw it happen last season as soon as he felt acclimated. I expect the same this time around. That’s why he should play with the starters.

What I’ve said since the summer is that he’ll be our starting PG before the Xmas day game, and I stick to it.

In orlando the team won when he crashed the boards and blocked shots and caught lobs.
It's when they tried to force it to him and go thru him offensively that always messed the team up. Also that's when pressure seemed to effect dwight as well.
He has literally turned back the clock to his rookie year.
Imo it wasn't just his bad in la la land the first time. It was the lakers mistake and Orlando's for trying to make him something he was not. But dwight looks like a beast out there lately. Not surprising from a physical stand point. He balled out in Charlotte that year 2 years ago. And yeah. Caruso the secret weapon has been utilized good as of late as well. I just can't get over how much bounce dwight has and how gritty he is with bron and ad. Let's go

Also from all his weight loss and more engrained/vascular muscular strength (rather than bodybuilding-like , water-retention muscle-bound "strength") his movement is much more fluid and has better grasp of the ball around the rim . I just love that. He used to fumble around w the ball down there all the time. And when he caught it in the air sometimes he would bring the ball down once and the defense would swarm. He now keeps it above his head a lot like Pau used to do and how AD does it in a way. He is much more gritty yes i totally agree and is able to show some finesse around the rim w those touchbacks.

I only wish he would clean up on his senseless fouls and goaltending (which he does about at least once a game).
