Players drafted after Mo in 2018 in top 10: Wendell Carter, Sexton, Knox, SGA.
Would you say that they haven't shown better skills than Mo so far and we would be better with them instead of Mo?
Not the only the top 10

18 Lonnie Walker
19 Kevin Huerter
20 Josh Okogie
24 Anfernee Simons
33 Jalen Brunson
36 Mitchel Robinson

And thats without knowing what a lot of the other players are doing.

Lonnie Walker?
ok..I admit, Lonnie was as much of a reach as picking Mo 6th.

What happened to him? Was it an injury?

Something to monitor.. we are currently winless on the road this season (0-4) and have played the most home games in the league. Now we have a 4 game road trip coming up against two really solid opponents. Hopefully, this momentum can carry over to the roadtrip.

Something also to take note of: the wins.

Cleveland (4-9)
New York (4-10)
Memphis (5-8)
Philadelphia (no Embiid)
San Antonio (5-9)
Washington (3-8)

So we’ve proven we can beat bad teams and one without their star player. Magic have also lost to some pretty decent and mediocre teams too. At least it’s early in the season and they seem to be on an upswing.

We were basically a .500 team last year and made no real changes this year beyond letting our youth (Isaac, Fultz and Bamba) take larger roles.

Beating the trash teams and losing to the good teams is what .500 teams do.

This isn’t a surprise to anyone.

Half the league is under .500 right now.

Just like last year, the Magic will make the playoffs if they basically beat all the teams they "should" beat at a high clip and steal a few against the teams they "shouldn't" beat.

Magic were 25-16 against teams under .500 last year and 17-24 against teams .500 or better. I expect a similar result this year.

Nope, because he is playing like the 100 million dollar man he was paid to be. Clifford said himself Vuc didn't come into this season prepared, so people held him accountable.
Wanted to continue this discussion here..
Luckily for players arm chair gm's posting in a forum don't decide the value of a player. Vuc is easily getting paid market value and has earned every penny.

Also Clifford didn't say Vuc didn't come into the season under prepared, he said he “He didn’t have the same summer, he knows this, he didn’t have the same summer, last summer he stayed in Orlando, he was..when we started… he was totally in rhythm and he’s just getting there right now.”People in here with their whiny "$100 million dollar man" cards burning a hole in their pockets made up their own interpretation eager to watch him not live up to his contract.

The key words being HE STAYED IN ORLANDO instead of playing for a garbage FIBA team. He likely didn't have time to heal, or work on his body or rest, like he did last summer..THATS what Clifford was referencing. We saw the very same thing when Fournier skipped FIBA leading to one of his best seasons.

Counterpoint: Fournier played FIBA this past offseason just like Vucevic did and is currently having the best year of his career.

Luckily for us, the white knights on this forum don't either. Vucevic was not playing up to standard to start the season. Everyone including Cliff, knew it. Now he is getting rolling again and that is evidenced by this win streak. Let's see if it can continue tomorrow night against Marc Gasol.

Sounds like Isaac will be back tomorrow.

MCW still out. I wonder if they recall Magette from Lakeland.

Eh...he wasn't playing anywhere near as bad as the anti-Vucevic group were desperately tripping over themselves trying to claim

1 CLE: 21 pts (8-16) / 10 reb / 3 ast / 1 stl
2 ATL: 16 pts (7-19) / 10 reb / 1 ast / 1 stl / 1 blk
3 TOR: 5 pts (1-13) / 12 reb / 2 ast
4 NYK: 21 pts (8-17) / 13 reb / 4 ast / 1 stl / 1 blk
5 MIL: 14 pts (6-12) / 7 reb / 2 ast / 2 stl / 1 blk
6 DEN: 24 pts (10-16) / 7 reb / 2 ast / 1 blk
7 OKC: 10 pts (4-15) / 12 reb / 2 ast / 2 blk
8 DAL: 19 pts (7-15) / 11 reb / 7 ast / 1 stl / 1 blk
9 MEM: 23 pts (9-16) / 16 reb / 6 ast / 2 stl / 1 blk
10 IND: 18 pts (8-17) / 17 reb / 3 ast / 1 stl /2 blk
11 PHI: 25 pts (11-18) / 12 reb / 2 ast
12 SAS: 10 pts (4-16) / 13 reb / 4 ast / 3 blk
13 MEM: 30 pts (11-14) / 17 reb / 6 ast / 1 blk

Also, those using "our $100m man" in a derogatory way have zero understanding of the salary cap and player salaries. A max contract for Vucevic would have been north of $141m...on top of that, Vucevic's contract was structured in a very team friendly descending manner.

I don’t think anyone can assume the results will be the same every season. Maybe Evan was dealing with something physically that he never really healed from. Nik had to carry us then his national team Take a look at the Montenegro National team roster while France had 4 good nba players.
Either way it doesn’t change the fact thats what Cliff was talking about. It obviously doesn’t matter now.

Vuc's advanced metrics have been down across the board this year before this 5 game stretch (BPM, Vorp, Raptor, W/s, etc). I don't give a damn about what his stat line says. The eye test and advanced metrics tell a different story. Not sure why that's such a hard concept for some people to grasp.

It wasn't health, just situational.

In Phoenix he was on a tanking team who wasn't going to play him over young players so his minutes and role were erratic. Then he go traded to Miami, where you have to defend or you don't play. So he didn't see much floor time.

Now with Houston, his release was more related to salary cap/tax issues...plus he was not shooting well.

Teams go right at him the second he steps on the floor because he's such a defensive liability...so if he's not shooting lights out he's unplayable.
