Nine NBA Games On National TV Below 1M Viewers Compared To 19 All Last Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Nov 19, 2019 1:54 am

TNT averaged fewer than one million viewers for both last Thursday's Mavericks-Knicks game and Nets-Nuggets game. TNT now has six straight NBA games with fewer than one million viewers.

Nine games on either TNT or ESPN have failed to record at least one million viewers compared to 19 all of last season.

ESPN's doubleheader last Wednesday featuring Clippers-Rockets and Warriors-Lakers fared much better. ESPN drew 1.66 million viewers for Clippers-Rockets and 1.99 million for Warriors-Lakers.

Did they think the Nets and Knicks would be great draws or something?

It amuses me every time a fan who voices an opinion thinks players ought to 'shut up and play' - WTF!

This is what happens when you have the Warriors and Pelicans on national TV every other day lol. Yeah I know hindsight is 20/20 but I'm pretty sure the Warriors have the most national televised games this year and nobody outside their hard core fans wants to watch the Santa Cruz Warriors on prime time.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Maybe they should stop playing warriors games multiple times a week when they don't have their best players? Flex those games.
Same with pelicans until zion comes back. This isn't rocket science.

Could be the matchups but could be that NBA has become a less appealing consumer product. They got beyond basketball and it worked for a while but now, not as authentic as people thought. People vote with their eyeballs.
