Sky still falling from last night?
We're not going to be in every game this year. Just the nature of the league. Boston took advantage of the fact we had no Rubio. When Book controlled the ball, some good things happened. But when they took it out of his hands, it was over. The team didn't even have a chance to prepare for no Rubio either so our game plan was out the window before it started.
I'd let Rubio sit tonight also and hope we can find a way to win in Sacramento.
Don't let losses or bad stretches here and there make you think the season is over. We'll be fine.

Not really worried. We didn't have two of our starters, and a last minute decision to start Carter definitely affected our gameplan on offense. Brad Stevens did a good job of making sure Booker didn't get into any kind of rhythm early in the game. What I am mostly disappointed about is our effort. We better bring it against the Kings or we're going to get spanked twice in two nights.

Yeah, I don't understand why people are so upset about the loss.
The Celtics are the best team in the league. THE BEST TEAM (tied with the Lakes) in the entire NBA. 11W - 2L and that loss against the Kings was for just one point. I mean... how can you be upset.
A lot of players and coaches have said that back-to-backs are not really THAT tough, there is some exaggeration in that regard.
Young players can play easily, it just affect true old players and the Celtics don't have any player over 30 years old.
And we didn't have our starting PG and our starting C. I don't think that effort was a problem, the Celtics are an athletic team very well coached who disrupted our offensive system. The best defense that we have seen so far.
So I am not concerned with the loss and I expect a solid game tonight. Hopefully a win, but it's not gonna be easy on the road.

I will be upset if that happen again tonight with or without Ricky, because then it could be a bad trend in maybe one of the most important weeks of the season, 5 games in 1 bad week can put you from 7-4 to 7-9.
I believe in the team, but last night effort and offensive play was really bad.
If is one game, ok, but we can't repeat it if we want to be a playoff team.

It's just really unfortunate that our backup PG has been out, so when Rubio is out it really hurts. Despite Jevon being decent last night I'd probably insert Tyler Johnson into the starting lineup if Ricky can't go just for the vet leadership and to help keep the players talking. With he and Kelly starting last year, we looked good.
We will just need to stagger a bit for scoring...I'd probably try and stagger Booker and Oubre much of the game, but Oubre also needs to pick his spots and not try to do too much.

Re: Nashty: Game 12 vs Celtics
Of course there will be losses throughout the season that will be both by large and small deficits. It's just the nature of the NBA season. However, Last night we simply got exposed, outcoached and outplayed. Feel free to agree or disagree. But for me personally, The biggest overall concern with regard to these losses ( even early in the season) should be the resurgence of familiar bad habits that reminded manybof ladt years suns.
- Trading baskets.
- being passive defensively.
-Not boxing out properly and securing the rebound. ( leading to multiple scoring attempts by the opposition).
-Not challenging or contesting shots , fighting for every possession.
- too much offensive breakdown into one on one play.
-General lack of team play and cohesiveness.
- trying to just outscore the other team with our three point shooting, and being lethargic, apathetic or just generally disengaged defensively is what ultimately keeps allowing these opposing teams to go on runs, get uncontested shots ( get into a good offensive rhythm) and as a result, We're consistently having to try and comeback from behind. Which is obviously wearing us down to even poorer effort heading into the 4th quarter. I understand that it's still early in the season, and that we're still a young team with a learning curve. But the overall effort and intensity ( fight!) Has to return to us, otherwise these losses will add up quickly.
Sorry for the rant, But the apathy, lack of effort, and overall attitude of indifference fostering habits such as trying to just trade buckets, now get defensive stops, and hope for a good outcome is just getting really concerning to me. Good teams, and teams fighting for the playoffs understand this. Just as every possession counts to great teams, every loss adds up in your chances at a playoff berth. I do really like what Jones has done, what with bringing in so many high intelligence players and shooters with something to prove. But IF your shot isn't falling, then what? Your team defense and tenacity has to be present otherwise you're likely to get beat often by the other teams through hustle plays and effort, as evidenced by the strategies being employed by the teams that have beat us. I just really hope that we can recapture our effort and tenacity, before we end up digging ourselves a hole that we can't climb out of.

Fact is, Rubio is a HUGE part of both our offense and defense and not having him was a key factor in our loss. We were thoroughly beat by a pretty surprisingly (imo) good team who's on a roll and it is what it is. When you're not on that level of play, getting beat by a team on that level shouldn't be a massive surprise
