Aldridge couldn't return 1 unprotected pick, let alone 2. That suggestion is crazy. He's 34 years old and this season has been rebounding like a SF

The way Portland's season is going, I wouldn't offer more than Whiteside even up for LA. Those
two expiring contracts will either yield useful pieces that will help in future seasons or the
dreaded cap space that Blazer fans hate.

Looks like Portland may be pursuing Ryan Anderson who was just released by the Rockets. They wouldn't just let go of Pau if they didn't have another deal in the works.

I like it, don’t love it. Not a great defensive player but at least he can spread the floor for a 4. Also a good locker room guy I’d wager.

What we really need Is a rebounder

Not super excited about Pau being gone. He seemed like the last guy left who was even remotely capable of providing what the team needs. Watching Pau's video, it sounds like he's just going to be hurt for too long to be helpful on the court, but is sticking around to potentially help in some other type of role.

I think because Pau's timeline looks a lot longer than first thought, and he wants to focus on rehab without worrying about needing to be on the court asap to help. That's what Pau said in his statement. But yeah maybe there is something coming, although I don't know of anyone available out there who would be much of a help.

Bogut? That would allow Skal to go back to his natural position at PF. But the speculation of Anderson is UNFORTUNATELY likely. More 3 point shooting with no D or rebounding. Seems about right. If this happens, I'll be done with this team til next year.

Gasol was waived to open up a needed roster spot for a PF or C most likely, but staying on with team in a possible coaching position. Could we be cutting a coach to open up that spot?

This has been inline with my thinking, that, using Whiteside's huge expiring combined with whatever picks are necessary, to bring in either Aldridge or K Love. I would then use Bazemore's rather large expiring, by not trading it, but just allowing him to walk at the end of the season, to save money toward the cap.

If Nurkic and Collins can come back before playoffs, We could run a 10 man rotation of:

Dame / Simons
CJ / Baze
Hood / Melo
Skal / Collins
(Aldridge or Love) / Nurkic

I don't want either one of them, rather trade for a PF/C that fits for the next 3-4 yrs and LMA is too old

Randle is owed 19 mil next yr as well (partial the following), I don't think he is a good fit at that price in the Stotts offense so I would eliminate him as a possibility.
