Not to solicit "And 1's" but how bout this post, eh...?
Wednesday's performance vs the Celtics illustrates exactly what I was getting at with this post:

Even fewer are "Clutch" with the ball in the hands of the man he's guarding, at the end of the game.

Missed the clincher in regulation on offense, but "hit" the clutch Block on defense to win the game in OT.

He often didn't sit on the bench in Toronto either when he missed games. I'm pretty sure half of the games he misses aren't injury related and he's just hanging out with his family.

My only frustration with kawhi is refusing to talk to the fans via the media about his availability. When asked if he's playing today @indy, he said he doesn't know. Doc said he doesn't know but hinted one of the two stars will be out. PG said he's playing today.

Kawhi, you already admitted you can't do back to backs. The NBA admitted you're legit injured. I know you don't like the media but someone not in tune with your injury might watch the post game press and said they're a chance you play and buy a ticket to see you based on your vague comments.

If there's a chance he plays in a b2b once this season, great but if you know you're not going to play I don't why doc and kawhi continue to jerk the media and by essence, jerk the fans. The fans are totally okay with kawhi sitting out. Just say you're sitting out. I really don't get it.

It can't be because of the opposing team. Pretty sure teams are intelligent enough to figure out kawhi isn't going to play b2bs

can't think of a good explanation for playing against hapless Wizards when we really need him for Pacers

looks liek we didn't LOL.

and I can see why he played the wizards game. They don't execute defensively so it made sense to practice their offensive sets against the worst teams .

But I just don't understand the gamemanship about kawhi sitting out back to backs. Doc backs kawhi, but I don't know what kawhi wouldn't say he is. I guess since the NBA is being so fine happy, they don't want to risk a slip up and say something that would cost them money even though we know leonards injury is a valid one.

as near as I can tell, Kawhi is saying he's under doctor's orders not to play back to backs

after what happened in SA, when the Spurs pressured him to play and destroyed a successful relationship, no way the Clippers even look sideways at him on this

Makes perfect sense for him to play the first game of a B2B when the schedule is so tight. Resting too many days takes him out of rhythm, then he'd have to play 2 games in 3 days. And you know he wants to show up strong in Toronto.

I agree with the clippers backing kawhi as they should. However I dont' get why kawhi couldn't say no, he's not playing at indy when he himself clarified he can't play back to backs weeks earlier. Why the guessing game? You admitted already, its not like anyone will be surprised you have to do it. Here's an informative video on his injury

D--I'm good with this [possible] explanation, although it does mean Kawhi did take that extra day of rest to prepare for his return to Toronto.

If we're to believe the best instead of the worst about Kawhi--and I am--his knee really IS bothering him and this isn't all just 'load management' or else he would have skipped the Wiz game, played the much-tougher Monday Indy game and still had a day off before the Raptors on Wednesday.

Me, I think there's so much going on with Kawhi's body and going on in his head that I'm not even gonna question him. I have no idea what I would do, and I'm not going to judge him.

Kawhi's going to walk into Jurassic Park as a member of another team, with his head held high in front of an entire country he abandoned, and smile while they award him his championship ring.

And then go beat their ass in front of a sold-out crowd.

Fortunately, they're Canadians. They'll be cool with that.

This is the only game this season where Raptors fans will be ok with a loss

Just browsing social media and what not but a question I have to ask..do people realize how good kawhi Leonard really is? The way people talk about him online makes him sound like he's Paul Pierce or Chauncey billups.

I think there's a few camps. There's the camp of petrified Laker fans who talk trash to belittle him based on their insecurities about their stars

Then there's Toronto and spurs fans who know what he's capable of

Then there's people that think he's overrated and overhyped. Yeah, there's some hyperbole about him but that happens to every great player but for the most part, he's that dude

There are only two other guys I'd consider over him if i had to choose. That's LeBron James or Kevin Durant. These three are the only ones great enough to take what the defense gives them and get a basket out of it and win. (Harden is great at it but he's a one man show)

Is kawhi Leonard better than LeBron all time? No, he's not. He was a late bloomer but kawhi is still really great at what he does. I haven't really see someone that mechanical and efficient like that. He's a plug-in type of player. Doesn't need to dominate the ball to be great. Very efficient with his touches

I don't think I've ever seen Laker fans more afraid of an opposing player than they are with Kawhi right now. The closest thing was probably LeBron in his prime, back when they were delusional enough to view him as a "rival" for Kobe. Even then, prime LeBron was never on a team that was directly competing with the Lakers, so it wasn't the same dynamic.

Laker fans seem desperate to convince themselves and everyone else that Kawhi is either "washed up" or "overrated." Meanwhile, they were just begging for him last offseason.
