wow i didnt know that reid was a volume 3pt shooter, I've just checked his stats and discovered that he is taking six 3's/game and that 33% are going in, although the numbers arent so big, that could be usefull. How is he defensively?

Defensively he is bad. I dont know about his conditioning but I'd ask him to slowly shed 15-20lbs to improve mobility and quickness.

Nowell floater game is solid

That's the guy we saw in college. He's coming around. 11-23 FG(.48) 3/4 FT(.75) 2 of 5 3s(.40)

Both Reid and Nowell looks to have had good shooting games. Not sure about anyone's defense this game.

However, boxscore shows an enigma for Canyon Barry. Barry only had 12 minutes, shooting 1-3 FG, with 1 board, no assists,no steals, 1 blk, 1 foul and somehow he ends up a +13 and nearly the only player in the positive at all. Murphy was +1.

Barry and Murphy might have been the game IQ glue when out there. Mclaughlin had a ok game again. 6 assists 10 pts, but looks like was a turnover machine. Not sure if this is just a better level for Mclaughlin or what exactly but he really struggled when he came up. Could have just been too early I suppose.

There's no question that Naz Reid has skills. I think it's the physicality of NBA players and can he hang tough when up against the strong NBA players.

I will expect us to convert Kelan Martin two way contract into 1+3 Rosas deal. I think he will get 10-15 minutes at backup SG/SF in the second half of the season.

There will have to be a corresponding move, because currently there is no roster space. But yes, I agree that this is where we're headed.

Who do compare Kelan Martin to? Past or present. He COULD be an elite 3 pt shooter and he has the size to be a good defender. I would be happy if he becomes Courtney Lee or a Thabo Sefolosha type of guy off the bench

I think he lacks an elite quickness and jumping ability to be an elite defender, it hurts his ability to stay in fron of quick wings. Yes, he has a strong body and 7'3" wingspan which helps him to defend. Kelan is also a gifted scorer, not only 3pt shooter. He fits well both in defense and offense next to Okogie at wings, because Josh can guard 1-3 opponents, but can't shoot.

Both of you need to slow your roll.

I'd love to see Martin become a rotation player for us but at this point it's way too early to start talking long term contracts. It's too early to say anything about him good or bad, really.

I was speaking about 1+3 contract. Low risk high reward.

He has shown more at the NBA level than both Naz Reid and Jaylen Nowell, who each got 1+3 deals.

...you mean the two guys who haven't even stepped foot on an NBA court yet?

Exactly my point. It wasn't too early to talk about 1+3 deals for them, yet it is for Martin?

Kinda has a body type and skill set similar to Khris Middleton

Hes got a jared dudley feel to him minus the defense. It took dudley a few years to figure out his role at the next level.

Martin just doesn't have the speed and athleticism to be a big scorer. But, he can be a contributor if he can mold himself into a solid 3 and D that can play 2-4 because he sits have the physical measurables.
