Players hate Boylen. Good. Even the rookies brushed him off.

That was not hot sause, IT WAS GHOST PEPPER time. So hot it hurts. For the Hornets, it most certainly hurt.

Lavine can't do this enough to make Bulls a .500 team. Lavine cannot be a solo primary scorer for a playoff team. But if White can develop into the type of dynamic scorer he's showing glimpses of, then the two of them could really mess up defenses. They could be a different version (probably lesser) of how Portland relied on Dame/McCullom for offensive firepower last couple years. That's a big big piece of the puzzle for the offense if Lavine can have another dynamic scoring guard on the team.

Other pieces of the puzzle remain unanswered and big problems (frontcourt? Wendell hold his own as center? Lauri fallen off a cliff? defense in frontcourt?)

Turning this into the zach and coby show might be the best way to go. Boylen needs to increase both of their minutes to around 35 minutes a game. And make sure he puts a line up on the floor to close games like they did tonight. I think the rotation seriously needs shortening. No more 10-11 man rotations cut it down to 8 or 9.

I'm skeptical. I think Zach's problem is that he can't play within a team offense. If Zach is trying to signal to Coby "hey, the two of us should take over this quarter" then that is simply Zach spreading his bad habits to another player.

I know LaVine is getting all the praise and he's deserving of that, but Coby White had 28 points(63% FG) off the bench tonight.

In the Thibs era there were months when we didn't score 16 points.

Zach as pure scorer role like Lou Will has really scary potential. I'm not defending Zach, and I'm with everybody here that Zach is not a a franchise player that you give your keys to. But, here's why I don't submit to this Zach bashing thing... Zach is a scorer, and despite his bad +/- or net rating, he just get buckets. It's just a choice we have to make, with all his weaknesses do we want him on this team or not. it's like we have Andre Drummond and we bash him for not playing like KAT. Zach Lavine IMO is a simple decision, do we want him or not, he is what he is.

Lauri on the other hand, he's been unacceptable... he should be getting more heat... I don't care that he's making good micro plays... he's not a rookie anymore!

Nice comeback win after trailing for 12pts early in 4th, Zach really had monster big game, he hit 2-3 crazy shots that he wont hit now anymore for a month at least lol. If he could just stay in a offball shooter mode instead of do it eveything hero ball it would be best.

Hmm. strange game from Zach. Maybe he got the memo after playing 300 games?
Like always he scores well against bumslayer teams but I will concede and give him credit since he did play well and passed my eye test. I mean I still dont trust but can his low iq recognize he can be a great player if he can hit those corner 3s?

They just need to keep that scoring pace up for a whole game. Not sure, but I'd bet 840 points would be some kind of record.

So what. It was a once in 200 times that will happen. It's not like this is good for the Bulls right now. It was great..It was a miracle win. Won't happen often though and it's not like it was a team win or anything. This is actually terrible for the Bulls and Lavine. Anything that encourages hero ball is team killing.

Ain't that the truth! Chucking threes and he's the next coming of Christ...?

Suppose it's like this within the organization too like with some of the posters in here? Being bipolar and not handling it very well. Since the arguments and conclusions vary on daily basis.

I'm starting to worry about WCJ and the fouls he's getting screwed on. Sure he fouls but some of the calls are straight up phony and smell of an agenda. The one where Zeller flew in over WCJ back and WCJ gets called for the foul was atrocious and that's just one example. He's not getting the Iverson treatment but man its bad.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Lol Lavine has proven he can score well against anybody. He just been in a funk lately. Scoring has never be Lavine problem.

Stratmaster wrote:Whatever you think of Zach's game, it was just so good to see the young man laughing and smiling.

Because he is the only real talent on the team (ok... WCJ and Coby are looking at me) all eyes, and all the pressure, are on him. He takes all the blame when they lose, and he has looked miserable having to defend himself and the team every game.

He was actually laughing in the interview. I hope he lets all that pressure go now and just uses his talent and plays basketball going forward.

Great post!
Zach on FIRE! He is fantastic scorer when in flames and will be an outstanding scorer for years to come.
And Coby, there’s some light after all, good game from rookie.

Unfortunately Lauri is playing himself out of NBA and that’s bad news for bulls as his trade value is very low right now. Just have to play him through this and next season and hope some progress. Maybe 2nd string PF in right system.

WOW

Man is this where we are at now? Looking at 5 seconds of something and knowing exactly what is going on? Guys were going nuts..and making there way over to Zach. While in the hell would the focus be on the coach in this moment? Coby looks to hi-five Boylen and the rest are appearing to make their way to Zach.

This is borderline Fake News and part of the reason why social media sucks.

Im on the White hype train. Not necessarily he might not even be a good pick (would still trade for future lottery/ trade for L Ball anyday of the night) but he can fill that Buddy Hield/Klay role and be a poor mans Jamal Murray. The Bulls simply dont have any alternative to White so he is a short term stopgap for couple of years.
36% on 6 attempts on 3 is very impressive for a rookie so I would replace White to take Lavines place since Lavine is more of a Jamal Crawford type closer, scorer. He can jack 30 shots since bench sucks.

Defense, passing, decision making all gets a pass which is very impressive considering Dunn, Lavine made the cut for yrs.
