GT #14: Wiz vs Kings, 11/24, 6 PM

Post#1 » by nate33 » Sun Nov 24, 2019 12:06 am

The Kings started the season 0-5 but have righted the ship and are 6-3 in their last 9 games. They are decimated by injuries, but they have enough depth to compensate. Fox, Bagley and Ariza are out. Bogdanovic is doubtful and Corey Joseph is day-to-day.

Again, the game falls on pickup basketball night, so I'm going to miss it. Can we please stop having games on Sunday and Wednesday night?

Take it away, ducler!

Watch out for Skai Lab (as they say at NASA). He's extremely inconsistent but every now and then has big games. Don't be lazy getting by screens setting up Hield - don't give him open 3's. Not feeling good about IT guarding Corey Joseph (now listed as probable), though I'd feel worse about IT guarding Fox. As long as dulcer posts, we have a good shot to win this.

Sacramento beat Phoenix & Boston before losing to New Jersey? The Nets out rebounded the Kings easily. Bryant & Wagner are eagerly waiting to pad their stats, but I’m hoping Bertans & Hachimura can do the same.

Kings lose some offense with Fox and Bogdonivic out, but the Wizards defense will probably manage to give some King a career high scoring game. I hope we can stop Hield and Barnes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else blows up for the Kings. Didn’t Yogi have some huge games against the Wizards?

Fox, Bagley & Ariza’s injures will have an impact on Sacramento’s defense. I think when they’re on the road they allow the home team to shoot 49.6%. Beal will get his & I’m hopeful that Troy Brown finds his stroke too.

I’m looking forward to Beal getting 30p/6r/10a & the team getting over 30 assists again. Wizards win at home before going on their West Coast road trip.

Disclaimer: Very little original thinking here, mostly I’m just summarizing an article I read somewhere but I forget where. Some betting web site I think.

Must-lose game. Don't let Dulcer ruin the tank. Precious ping-pong balls at stake.

It's the time that my friend has access to the middle school gym. Also, with so many of us having kids, people aren't usually available in the mid-day because their kid has a little league game or something.

I actually really like the timing. I just need the Wizards to play Sunday games before 4:00 or at 9:00. Can we get Ted on this?

It's Ducler -- not Dulcer. Mistakes like that can cost you a game!

Note that "Du" at the beginning of a name in French is a sign of an aristocratic background -- like "Von" in German. It means "of" or "from" & is followed by some kind of place-name. Think "earl of sandwich," or "count of monte cristo," or "duke of edinburgh" or "prince of wales." Or even "duke of earl" -- well, no, not that one. Not "earl of monroe" either (earl of pearl?).

Once, back in my very bohemian days, I lived a couple of weeks in the apartment of le comte de paris (he was married to an American woman I knew). Big joint, fairly shabby; guy didn't have a lot of money, just a title.

This is for Zards -- from that place I moved to the loft where Steve Lacy (great jazz soprano saxophonist) lived (on the rue des feuillantines if I recall...). I lived with Steve & Irene for almost 6 weeks (I was broke & homeless at the time, obviously).

Here's Steve Lacy playing Monk's great tune, Shuffle Boil:

Hmm makes me wonder if Troy Brown Jr.’s flu like symptoms didn’t get better.

Will Wagner ever learn to play defense without fouling? The man is a fouling machine!

The King's don't have Fox or Bagley. We need to win this game.

This is the best bench we've had since I've been a Wizards fan...
