Just out of curiosity...

How is your takeaway from all of this that the Raptors are not a threat in the playoffs? You realize that the Raptors were missing two of their best players right?

Um, because you guys suck and are the definition of a regular season only team? Sry if u think otherwise. DW, philly aint a championship team either, but ur even farther off, way farther

The Raptors are the reigning champions buddy. You could find that out with a simple google search. And I won't post on this game thread again because your delusion is honestly weirding me out.

No accountability. The coach has not demanded accountability from Ben. Joel was awful today but Ben is a constant problem. It's easy to double team JoJo when Ben removes himself as an option in the half court. He has to be required to be a shooting threat or else the coach and Ben need to go. They won't win this way.

bright sides

Josh has seemed to figure out how to work within our system. less PG minutes for one thing.

thats a silver lining. Maybe others will figure out some things too.

Ironically, people were ready to see the new and improved Simmons and Embiid. But it was the same nonsense. Simmons can't shoot a ball into the ocean, while Embiid's daddy Gasol spanks him. If Embiid actually scored a point Philly wins.

The thing is, you put Embiid with any other all-star playmaking PG/Wing and he's much harder to guard, but when the only options for him are post up or 3 he becomes easier to defend. I don't think people are cognizant of just how much Ben's game hurts Embiid's game, Embiid is used as a rollman as much as Ben McLemore, think about that for a second. Brown saw Embiid struggling and never once tried to get him a feel with a easy roll, because Ben can't really run it since any smart defender would drop under the screen and build a wall knowing Simmons wont shoot.

What the Sixers have right now is Blake Griffin & DeAndre Jordan spacing problems, the problem is that Ben is the DeAndre in that comparison.

Embiid, a top 10 player, fails to score in 32 minutes yet Simmons draws more heat.

This forum has jumped the shark.

They dont have the offensive talent to win a 7 game series imo. A random game in November doesnt mean much anyway.

They are a good defensive team, that plays hard so it is not an opponent you'd wish to face but their offensive limitations would make it very hard for them to win 4 games against the Sixers, again imo.

Weak. Fraud. Imposter. Joel clearly didn't come into this season ready to play. He's morphed into this turnover machine with Fultz-like yips when it comes to playing in the paint.

MVP? DPOY? Time to do some soul-searching Jo.

If Embiid cant score well against Gasol, as all evidence has continously pointed to, the Sixers themselves will have a tough time scoring to win 4 games. We just saw them fail to score 100, in the modern NBA, even with them shooting relatively hot from 3. That doesnt give great confidence. They dont have Butler to bail out Embiid and Simmons again this year.

Yea today's loss was largely on Embiid, as was the loss last postseason.

Or maybe we could just get rid of both guys and build around Tobi Josh and Al. :D

Simmons looking like a $12m per year role player in big games is a case of recurring futility. That's why he's getting heat. This type of Embiid performance is clearly an anomaly.

Moving forward. What does Brett brown do. Clearly we saw in the first game of season vs Celtics. Celtics double team embiid a lot as well. But their centers aren’t as strong or savvy as Gasol.

What does Brett brown do to “coach” embiid what he should do when he sees the double team. What does Brett brown say to “coach” Simmons when he see his man leaving him to double embiid.

Since we don’t have a go to guy in the last 2 minutes. It comes down to coaching. The post play with embiid is still a very efficient way to run an offense. But the execution was horrible tonight when double teams came.

Yes. Occasionally Harris and Richardson and Scott made 3 pointers wide open due to the double team. But it wasn’t enough. And we went scoreless the last 4 minutes. That’s unacceptable. Just like the blown lead against the nuggets.

Bad loss, but I'm not going to worry until after the all-star game. We probably won't win a title this year, but we'll have a shot. Maybe 10%. This year, maybe a bit less. We'll have about the same chance (hopefully a bit higher) each of the next few years. If we keep the window open long enough, hopefully one of those years it pays off.

I don't think Brett Brown is a good coach either and his reluctance to run pick and roll is literally draining Embiid.

That said, you can't tactically scheme your way to playoff success and ultimately a title. Maybe in college. The NBA comes down to bucket getters getting buckets. So that first part of your post is all she wrote to sum up this Sixers team.
