Moving on from Encarnacion, extending Chapman at the last hour for one season instead of the two he sought, throwing his support behind Sanchez, allowing Betances, Didi, Gardner and Romine to wait on other business in the midst of payroll tax issues, signing Zack Granite as this year's potential Tauchman stashed in Scranton and having a roster full of excessively cheap position players and reserves to cover the thirteen roster spots, it appears that everything is going according to plan. I'd caution against the expensive and long term starter in lieu of the return of Andujar's and Stanton's bats while pursuing cost controlled young power arms for the back of the pen with the ability to be stretched while maintaining the wiggle room for this year's injury and/or performance issues resulting in the Encarnacion acquisition midseason but I'm not certain if I quite fully understand the parameters of the process to which Cashman often refers and whether a legitimate ace starter is actually a part of the decision tree.
