2015 we landed 4th
2019 we landed 3rd

Its not like we haven't had top 5 picks the last 5 years. We look like a top 3 worst team in the league again this season so lets see where it lands us at the end of the year.

This is why I want to keep Fizdale and Randle until this top pick is secured

As much as I want them gone. I’m ready to ride this wave of awfulness. Just get rid of them in the off season before the draft

i never thought i'd actually be saying this but lamelo might be perfect for us - if anyone has been bred to stand up the pressure of playing here, it's him. and he'd probably thrive on being the media heel as it's more or less what he is already. good positional fit next to rj and frank as well.

seems like shooting would be an ongoing issue not just with him but with the fit as well as frank and rj aren't known for their shooting

Yeah but can he shoot and defend? I'm hearing that he "kinda sorta" cant. If true Is his razzzle dazzzle playmaking enough to make up for that?

Am glad to see the Ant-Man have a monster game but I don’t see him separating himself from Wiseman in anyway.

Ant-Man will have to improve his efficiency (still low shooting percentages) for this to happen.

Yeah if Wiseman continues to dominate, it’s gonna be hard to take anyone else over him imo. But man Edwards looks like a star in the making for sure.

What are your thoughts on Lamelo’s recent triple double game? I gotta say he looks really good and might be the real deal too.

I’ve been going back and forth on LaMelo LOL. My problem with the guards in this draft class is their low FG%, that is why I think Wiseman is still the safe bet for teams that would get the #1 pick.

Wiseman’s midrange shot seems to be money and I see him being like what Stat was for us in 2010 but with elite defense.

Ultimately I have more confidence in my talent evaluation for bigs rather than guards LOL which makes looking at this draft class extremely tricky.

Yeah I feel that this draft is pretty tricky as well. You can literally make an argument for any of the guards being the best pick.

DX also feels like most teams in the NBA have Wiseman as the safe #1 as well. I wonder if that changes if Lamelo and Edwards continue to have strong games. That certainly makes things more interesting.

Stat with elite defense tho... :o perfect next to RJ.

Its more than just razzle dazzle though. He's a very effective passer. He'd walk in and instantly be our best passer (not saying much but still).

He's a risky pick because again as ive mentioned earlier in this thread there's a chance the shot and the strength just never get there and he's nothing more than a hyped up back up point guard who can't defend but i do think he's in the running for highest ceiling in the draft. You don't just find 6'7" dudes with legit point guard skills and vision.

The floor is like a bad Evan Turner but the ceiling is really uncomparable to anyone in the league. He's got such a unique skill set for his body type.

Vernon Carey trying to defend on the NBA level with the pace and space and the PnRs is something I don't want to imagine. Dude would've been a hell of a pick 15-20 years ago. Just doesn't have the game for today's NBA.

Agreed 100%. Not sure I’d even take him in the first round especially with our needs.

Man, is it me or Anthony Edwards look like Melo-lite. When he misses, it's REALLLY bad but when he's hot, no one can stop him. The game against MSU, 75% of his shot was waving his teammates off for ISO runs and bad ones at that.

He is the truth. This is why I been saying what I been saying. We gotta treat this the way Dallas treated it when they made it their business to get Doncic.

You were overly critical in your projections for RJ in the NBA and look how that's turning out tho. Just saying...

18 year old highly skilled offensive big who has nice touch around the basket and some decent ball handling who has already shown an ability to step out and hit the 3 and just had a 20 \ 11 \ 7 blocks game after having monster games prior to last night. Even if you just look at him as a project big he's a really nice one. Bigs usually take more time to develop . He's got some Domas Sabonis in his offensive game and his rim protection looks to be on Myles Turner level. Does that mean he's going to be as good as those guys in the league? No, but he's got the tools and the potential and I see him as a nice project big.

For the Knicks hes not among the main targets as we need better guards more than anything but I think some other team could have a solid pickup with him
