I'd like to see Melo extend his career by accepting a role that's more ideal for him going forward. This could be his last chance and he desperately needs to take advantage of it.

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
I gotta be honest, Brogdon is likely the only one of these dudes I would have brought back.
SB NationWhy Malcolm Brogdon and the Bucks parted ways in free agency
The Bucks letting Brogdon go to the Pacers will continue to be second guessed until they win a championship
With their backs against the luxury tax, the Bucks had four key pieces unsigned heading into free agency: Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, Nikola Mirotic, and Malcolm Brogdon. Eric Bledsoe was also originally supposed to be a free agent, but the Bucks decided to lock him up to a $70 million extension in March.
Brogdon, at age 26, was the youngest player of the group and the one with the most positive momentum in his career after putting together a solid two-way campaign that saw him join the vaunted 50/40/90 club for shooting efficiency. He was also Milwaukee’s best guard in the playoffs, providing an essential shooting threat on the perimeter while being a tough defender and careful ball handler who didn’t make mistakes.
But when Middleton and Lopez were re-signed, Brogdon suddenly became the odd man out. Milwaukee decided to trade the guard after he had reached a deal with the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks would get Indiana’s lottery protected first round pick in 2020 and two second rounders, while the Brogdon would get a four-year, $85 million contract.
Brogdon is now off to the best start of his career for the Pacers and is having an all-star caliber season.
The Bucks reportedly didn’t want to pay the luxury taxSpoiler:

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
I'd like to see this kid end up in San Antonio should an NBA team deem him worthy of a 2nd chance.
Memphis SB NationJosh Jackson deserves a promotion
Jackson’s assignment hasn’t been like most players when they are assigned to the G-League. Typically, a player will be called up and down numerous times allowing them to practice and play with both the NBA squad and the G-League affiliate. Jackson, however, has essentially been a $7 million G-Leaguer. Jackson has spent his entire Grizzlies tenure with the Hustle. He didn’t participate in the Grizzlies training camp, nor was he a part of their media days.
Through 7 games Jackson has averaged 21 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.9 steals for the Hustle. Jackson has also been efficient scoring the ball, shooting 54.5% from beyond the arc, and 48.4% overall entering last night’s matchup. The numbers are there, but also expected, as the Grizzlies would have bigger problems if Jackson wasn’t dominating the G-League. He has been playing his ass off, which again, is something expected of a guy who is trying to revitalize his NBA career.
Where Josh has exceeded expectations, or at least my expectations, is how engaged he has been from day one. He seems to genuinely care about the Hustle, his teammates and their overall success, which isn’t something you always see from guys sent down on assignment. Josh could worry about getting his numbers and call it a day, but instead he takes initiative to help coach and instruct his teammates on the court. Josh has shown a maturity most have not seen of him professionally until this season.Spoiler:

He has only played 7 games there and people are saying he deserves a 2nd chance and has earned it?

In this story, and even if it would have require a sign-&-trade of Middleton so not an easy thing (being over the cap, if they had re-sign Brogdon, they would not have had the difference between Brogdon and Middleton to spend), I asking myself if MIL is better with Middleton at 35M/year during his contract, than what they would have been with Brogdon at 21M/year and another guy for 14M/year...
It would have been hard to make it happen, Brogdon would have resign for more than 21M/year, and Middleton would have get less from another team, but it makes realize that the difference in money is huge.

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
Yahoo SportsAnthony ranked 16th among Western Conference players in points per game last week. James Harden averaged 47 points per game with better efficiency than Anthony. Karl-Anthony Towns, Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis averaged more points, rebounds and assists per game than Anthony.
So, this obviously somewhat of a lifetime achievement award for a respected player who fell out of the league and persevered to return.
But Anthony legitimately played well. For a player who looked washed up with the Thunder, played worse with the Rockets and is now 35, this is quite surprising.
