Re: Around the NBA, 2019/20 Edition
Watching my #2 team, the Lakers play New Orleans tonight.
NA got a heck of a nice trade, kudo's to them.
For someone they were going to lose no matter what?! Great trade for them.
Anyhow....
...I hate to say it, but it's nice to see Dwight doing well off the bench right now for the Lakers.
I hope he doesn't **** it up and get another massive ego.

Re: Around the NBA, 2019/20 Edition
Pacers are 9-4 when Brogdon plays. Remarkable pickup.
When Oladipo returns and gets himself back in playing shape, they will be one of the best teams on East.
Siakam can actually win MIP back to back.

He was the key FA I wanted us to pursue, but got told he was only good on Milwaukee because of Giannis.
Isaac
Gordon
Fournier
Brogdon
Fultz
Probably wouldn't be looking too bad right now either.

I don't think anybody saw this comming, normally transitions from spot up SG to starting PG are ugly. (and rare)
Also even Bucks didn't see this comming as they choose Bledsoe over him.

That one is going to hurt the Bucks. There are always those decisions you will reflect back on when/if a superstar leaves and choosing Bledsoe over Brogdon will most certainly qualify as that if Giannis does indeed leave.
As far as Pascal winning MIP again, he certainly could. He has improved that much in key areas this year, but at this point he just has to be considered in the MVP conversation. Especially if the Raptors finish as a top 3 seed after losing Leonard. I think he's just evolved past the MIP award at this point.

Watching Graham breaking out for Charlotte and realized he's 40 months older than Fultz.

With what cap space? He was a RFA and the Magic only had the $9m MLE...even if they didn't sign Vucevic and Ross (who they signed with Bird Rights) the absolute most they could have scraped together was $13-15m in cap space. Brogdon got 4 year / $86 million offer sheet from Indiana.

How so? Renounce bird rights on Vuc and Ross, stretch Mozgov, and even with Birch, MCW, Iwundu, Jefferson, Frazier all resigned + Chuma's cap hold, I only see $84M of salary. Where was the rest tied up? (Genuine questions, I've forgotten your breakdowns of cap space from the offseason).
It never seemed like it was an unrealistic challenge to free up $20M of salary for that summer, even if it meant a salary dump of DJ to someone like Memphis who were clearly happy to oblige for a price. The main hesitation seemed that people didn't believe Brogdon would be worth it.

Even trades at that point were extremely difficult to cut salary as it was too late for expiring contracts, only one possible was JR Smith's who would have cost the Magic key assets ($ to match + pick)....all for the hope that Brogdon chose to join a team destined for lottery over one trending up with Oladipo.

I've shown you the math 1000 times...there's empty roster holds AND Iwundu and Frazier were guaranteed salary etc....

Can you show me again? I'm not seeing where we lose $10M on empty slots, as Iwundu, Frazier plus a resigned Birch and MCW are both accounted for above.
Why would you think the lineup above would be lottery bound? We would've replaces Vuc's impact with Brogdon's, not signed Aminu (which doesn't look like a loss at this point) and lost Ross's scoring off the bench which is yet to make an impact this season.
Add some vet minimum guys to steady the bench in their wake and we could be in a very similar place to where we are right now.

I honestly don’t mean to be rude but that’s absurd.

Anyone watch the Celtics? Is Grant Williams a awesome defender? Or why is he a rotation player with 25,9 FG% & 0 3P% (0-22
)

Re: Around the NBA, 2019/20 Edition
Just read the Knicks board & checked the stats of there young players. Damn this must be frustrating, after 20 years. Our rebuild looks almost perfect in comparison.
Knicks youth:
DSJ: 5,9 ppg / 2,9 apg / 35,2 FG% / 32,1 3% / 40,3 eFG% / 42,5 TS% / -6,7 BPM
Frank: 6,5 ppg / 3,5 apg / 38,2 FG% / 33,3 3P% / 44,7 eFG% / 47,1 TS% / -1,9 BPM all career highs
Knox: 7,9 ppg / 3,0 rpg / 37,0 FG% / 35,1 3P% / 46,7 eFG / 50,4 TS% / -3,0 BPM
Barrett: 14,7 ppg / 3,2 apg / 39,6 FG% / 31,7 3P% / 43,3 eFG% / 53,3 FT% / 45,8 TS% / -3,5 BPM
Yikes
Robinson is a advanced stats darling, but he can't play 20 mpg without fouling out

Adding one dimensional players while hoping for FA miracles as you chase off good players you have. Sounds like future of one team if they listen their fanbase.
