not really, just trying to maintain some semblance of consistency here. for 3 years straight you guys -- especially LeBron guys -- told us that KD and Steph were DQ'd from the MVP conversation because they were playing together...why doesn't that apply to LeBron/AD?

That’s still an emotional response unless you believe they were right to disqualify those two guys. There’s more to it than that anyway. The team outside those two guys was way better and kd joined that great team. The talent disparity between the warriors and the rest of the league was huge. That’s not the case now. Anyway that’s all realgm talk neither guy got robbed of any award.

The emotional thing was more to do with harden anyway. His “schtick “ play was better than Stephs was in their playoff series together so does that make Stephs game a Schtick too? I bring up that series because i assume by schtick you mean his play or impact doesn’t carry over to the playoffs once he loses calls to tougher d and tighter whistles. Not that that is really relevant to a regular season award.

you can't pick and choose when to apply those standards...if Steph/KD were DQ'd...and for 3 straight years mind you, then AD/LeBron should be DQ'd too. if that's not the case then you (not you, people who thought this in general) are the ones being emotional, not me. I'm just applying those same standards across the board.

as for Harden, we've been there done that. i'm not a fan of insanely high-usage players who can't contribute without the ball in their hands, felt the same way about Russ when he won his MVP and have always felt this about Harden. I see nothing in his game that makes the players around him better. so yea, he's doing the heavy lifting now, but that isn't scalable at all and i'm not sure why people think this year is different.

Yea absolutely. Harden doesnt make his teammates better. That's why the rockets were challenging the dubs with durant better than anyone else huh? Even with 3 less all stars and worse role players

Well, Luka has outplayed LeBron, AD and Harden head to head so far. The only guy that he hasnt had a game against yet and is in the MVP race right now is Giannis. Mavs also have a good record so I would say its Giannis at #1 and Luka #2.

Look at the Lakers roster and tell me how Lebron isnt right up there with Giannis, if not leading.

3rd leading scorer (kuzma) is averaging UNDER 12ppg

Bucks have 4 guys in double figures. 3rd scorer, Bledsoe, averages 16 ppg.

Who can lakers REALLY trust come playoff time?

Lebron, AD, Green for sure. Then Avery and Dwight should count.

Not counting on Mcgee, Kuzma, Rondo, and KCP. I think Caruso is a maybe, leaning on yes, but need to see more. So thats 5-6 guys.

2-3 guys short rn. Need to flip Kuzma for 1 of those guys. Make 1 more move and or hope for nice buyout (s)

I know we are just over a month in but Luka Doncic will win the 2020 MVP award.

It’s honestly a two man race, luka v harden.

Luka will win the award.

MVP is a full season award. Luka is shown to have inconsistent offense(3pt shooting and FT shooting respectively). I'd trust Harden and his GOAT usage and Giannis' superior defense over him.

If the Lakers and LeBron keep playing this way and get a 1st seed I have no doubt that the MVP will go to LBJ

LeBron vs. Giannis vs. Luka. OK then, who are Giannis' and Luka's equivalents to AD? And please better come up with something that wont make everyone laugh.

If theres noone who is in the same tier as AD on those teams, then its pretty clear how LeBron cant be considered as qualified as they are, right?

By your logic LBJ should not have any MVPs so far. He has never had consistent threepointer or FTs. There are things to criticise Luka for but his offensive production is certainly not one of them. He has been one of the most consistent offensive players this year if not the most.

Goodness i hate seeing luka threads on the general board, we are a quarter of the way in the season and we are a 5th seed right now, so no, 5th seeds don't win MVP's

So besides the number 2 option of Middleton (who is still an all star guy last yr, dont forget) vs AD.

Lets compare the rest shall we?

Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, Hill, Pat C, Donte, Wes Matthews, Robin Lopez, Korver, Sterling Brown, Illyasova, and DJ Wilson
vs
Green, Dwight, Kuzma, Mcgee, KCP, Rondo, Avery, Caruso, Cook, Daniels, and Dudley.

Bucks legit KILL the lakers there. Kuzma is the teams THIRD leading scorer at under 12 ppg. Nobody else is in double figures.

Pretty disingenuous of you to not look at the rest of the team when its a team game, getting real annoying

Mavs aren't great, but mavs won't win enough games. And KP is a damn good player. Better shooter than AD and a very good rim protector.

But mavs are constructed better and have tons of shooting.

Maybe Luka is lucky and the Mavs fall to the 6th seed and he can win it like Westbrook did

Giannis repeat
Jokic 31/21/22
Luka & Oscar = 5 x 27/8/8
The Brodie = All-out energy

Hold on, so Bron basically forcing the Lakers to sell the entire team to get AD there is somehow someone else's fault? And your claim that this version of KP or Middleton are comparable in value to AD is outright ridiculous. But i saw it coming. Bron stan "alternative truth", i guess.

Anyway if you swapped either for LeBron, they'd win with the lakers, i have no doubt. But to each their own.

you should put money on it if you're so confident, Luka is at +450, behind Giannis +250 and Harden +400.....but you won't.
