Realized something today thats kind of bumming me out:

Tatum and Brown is one hell of a trade package for a star this summer and the salaries now line up perfectly. Guessing we try for both Harden and Giannis this summer if either one of them make it clear theyre looking to move on.

On the plus side, a lineup of Walker/Smart/Hayward/Giannis/Timelord might have its PG be the fifth-best passer. :)

We’d be title favorites, thats for sure. Its all predicated on him turning down the super max and wanting out, something im unsure he’ll do.

We are perfectly primed to take the kill shot this summer though, something definitely flying under the radar

One guy whose flying under the radar is Alec Burks. Always liked him as a off the bench spark plug. Wouldn't have to give up much to get him either.

Was looking up bench scorers this season. Some names I found interesting paddy mills, Burks, Langston Galloway and Etwan Moore. None are huge players. But could help a listless bench some without having to give up too much

I can't believe fans were so willing to trade Hayward in the offseason just like that. It's clear to me Brown and Tatum aren't ready to carry this team yet the way Siakam/VanVleet are doing for the Raps, Doncic for Mavs, and Murray/Jokic for Nuggets.

Don't refer me to the 2018 playoffs either. Horford was our best player during that playoff run.

Hayward had a real ugly close to a very underwhelming season. I was wrong about him and the level he could reach during his continued comeback.

I argued this a lot this past summer but even though Hayward lacked confidence and explosiveness last year he was and is our best basketball IQ player. That includes Horford IMO. Hayward almost always makes the right play. He doesnt always execute but he doesnt really force things. That's why I feel like he is our best play maker, and creator despite not having the same level of potential as others.

If it’s for Giannis and he’s looking to extend in Boston, maybe. If it’s for Harden, it’s a mistake, and a get out of jail free card for Morey.

If Giannis is dealt, he’ll never give this. You still 100% take that risk unless he pulls an AD.

Agree.

I would trade "superstar All Star" Jayson Tatum before Gordon Hayward.

Gordon is more important than Tatum for this team right now. Tatum is way too inconsistent.

Yup. I really didn’t understand why so many Bostonians said Hayward sucked and STILL would prioritize Tatum over Hayward. I don’t think most see Brown as good as Tatum. I happen to think it’s Hayward ,Brown then Tatum as third best but I’m being called an idiot for that opinion.

The Celtics will definitely have a lot of options this summer but I’m not giving up on this season. They will be contenders when Hayward comes back and we can get some help in the front court via Trade or waiver pick up.

Celtics are not trading Walker, Tatum, Brown, Smart or Hayward unless the bottom falls out. Why would they?

Celtics are on pace for 59 wins and have potentially 3 first round picks coming next year. Relax everyone!

Brown is the only one I’m a bit concerned about. That they’ll go for something like Myles Turner (who I know is a very good player). I haven’t understood Jaylen not being ahead in the pecking order of offensive options so I still wonder if there’s something Brad doesn’t quite like enough about him or the fit. I dunno.
I never thought the Celts could be a contender this year and I DID think Hayward would be an all star level talent this year. I just didn’t believe he’d be given the chance to do it. I was proven wrong. I don’t know how we stack up against some of the top teams in the West but I like that we have a clear advantage in at least one area vs Philly and the Bucks with our quickness.
Philly doesn’t look like a perfect fit yet despite their talent and I just like most matchups for us with the Bucks.

Ainge knows a guy like Turner is not enough to win a title. We need to find a way to get a true top 10 talent. One of Giannis, Harden, AD, Kawhi, Lillard - a guy like that. You just can't win without one, no disrespect to those Pistons teams.

So my guess is it's highly unlikely a deal happens during the season, because guys THAT good rarely become available, let alone midseason. They'll scrounge the buyout market and if there's any cheap deals that cost minimal future capital, maybe he makes some little move, but honestly our salaries don't really align to do a halfway trade like that anyways. It's go big or go home on the trade market IMO

Funny, of those guys you mentioned only Kawhi has a title to his name. The others haven't come close to sniffing one.
