Giannis' Bucks and Luka's Mavs would be a fun NBA finals rivalry for the next decade lol.

The Lakers lost to the Mavs.

Toronto is really impressive against Utah.

I'm disappointed in myself I had no idea Luka would be *that* good, I thought he'd be about Tatum level player, a bit less athletic, a bit more technical. Looking back now it was kinda obvious.

Bucks have the easiest December. We need to keep it up and rack up some wins now since it doesn't look like Boston/Toronto/Miami are going anywhere soon.

One thing that has become super obvious this season when watching other NBA games, is how teams play with playoff level intensity and focus against the Bucks. This Jazz Raptors game is a prime example. Against us, the Jazz played both games like their season was on the line. Against the Raptors, the Jazz look like disinterested trash.

The Raptors are doing a much better job in defense than the Bucks.

It is easy to make a team appear disinterested when you force them to make difficult shots or when you steal the ball as much as the Raptors do.

People are still not giving Nurse the credit he deserves.

Raptors being a reliable shooty hoop team is definitely a factor as well.

It's also easy to look good defensively when your opponent looks totally disinterested from the opening tip. I'll give the Raps some credit, they're defensive intensity is solid, but I don't think it's so good that they made the Jazz just quit in the 1st half.

Nah, averaging a triple double/MVP candidate in year two isn’t obvious for any draftee save for possibly LeBron. His succcess is beyond any reasonable expectations, even if you had massively high expectations for him.

I thought he'd be a perennial MVP candidate type but I thought it'd start later. Legit All Star starter at age 20 is basically LeBron and Magic.

No, see, that's the problem. It is obvious if you follow european basketball, which I'm supposed to be doing.
Winning euroleague MVP as an 18 year old is about as rare as winning NBA MVP as a rookie. We all got confused with other guys who played on both sides of the pond, but the thing is none of these other guys won Euroleague MVP as a teenager.
It was right there staring us in the face.

My gut said winning EuroLeague MVP wasn’t a massive accomplishment is it relates to NBA stardom, even if done as an 18 year old.

So looked up the EuroLeague MVP’s. It’s not an impressive list of winners as it relates to the NBA. Outside of Luka, AK47 would be the standout. Other winners are guys like Vesely, Sergio, Nando de Colo, etc.

Yes, like I said, these guys didn't do it as 18 year olds. Massive difference. Dude was a child.

Exactly what it means to win EL MVP as a child, well we're finding out now for the first time, because it hadn't been done before.

Seems like one team here is due for a slump.

NBA is considering incentivizing mid-season tournament with an extra draft pick.

Setting aside if this is actually an incentive for players, this seems like a **** idea. Let's reward the good teams with more draft picks to help them stay good.

This entire idea sucks. It needs to be scrapped.

I agree the mid season tourney is an awful idea, nothing compelling about it.

But also, NOT setting aside if this is actually an incentive for players: it is not!
