now that lowry is injured I really hope FVV inflates his stats so we can trade him. Believe we can get our future PG in the draft this year.

There's 6 PGs projected to go in the top 10 of the draft this year. Right now the projected top 10 teams:

Knicks
Pelicans
GS
Wizards
Grizzlies
Kings
blazers
bulls
Cavs
Hawks

All those teams except the knicks or maybe Pelicans(depending on how you view Lonzo) have a star at PG or just drafted a PG. An elite PG prospect will drop in the draft this year and we should snatch him up

Any prospects jump out at you??

I think what I have personally observed is that we are going to need some real forward depth considering Gasol/Ibaka/RHJ likely arent on this team in 1-2 years

Onkyeka Okongwu has been a monster so far.

I thought we might be able to steal him at the start of the year but hes playing his way into lottery pick status.

I would love him on the team, especially if he can learn from Marc.

On top of the athleticism, he might be able to stretch out from 3 too given his touch+ mechanics.

Masai's draft to do list:

1) evaluate
2) Giants of Africa review
3) evaluate
4) look at 4 year college guys and some international players
5) evaluate
6) of all the prospects, which ones can shoot or play switchable D
7) evaluate
8) of the ones remaining, which ones have the tools to be taught how to round out their game and who has the best measurements
9) evaluate
10) of the last few left, who has the best work ethic and attitude.
11) draft a guy none of us have heard of

Quickly rising up unfortunately. I was hoping we'd end up in the 21-23 range but the way we are playing and the underperformance by other teams, feels like we may end up 25-30 now

Yeah I expect us to be at the end of the first now so it’s just whoever falls I guess

The bigs in this class aren’t great and the wings are even worse so we might end up with a gaurd of some kind

Aron Henry , Jahmius Ramsey , Isiah Joe and Romeo Weems would be guys to take note of

One or two of the lottery PGs could fall too which could work out for us as Fred insurance

Having a 1st round pick this year feels like found money

Almost unfair to other teams that Masai gets to pick in the first round.

I don't mind that this is a PG heavy draft at all. A lot of the bad teams in the league don't really need one and it would make sense to draft a backup PG with starter potential since Fred's future and Lowry's long-term position with the team is up in the air.

I don't follow college ball so closely, but the traits Masai usually looks for are a crazy wingspan, a high motor, and mental toughness. Skills can be polished in development. Keep an eye on any guys with those characteristics.

Hard to see those traits from afar. More fun to just go along for the ride on draft night, in my opinion.

Only draft picks I was able to predict were Jakob Poeltl at #9 in 2016 and OG Anunoby at #23 in 2017. No one knew Bruno, I didn't expect Delon Wright in 2015 (wanted Rondae Hollis-Jefferson), didn't know much about the 2nd Round in 2015, I didn't really care who we picked at #27 and found it kind of funny how upset people at the Draft Party got that we didn't pick Skal or Deyonta Davis, and the last couple years have been impossible to scout as an outside observer.

Paul Reed from Depaul is exactly what we need

I like Reed but he plays the same position as Pascal. I don't think its worth using a first for that since his opportunity would be limited.

Easier to just sign a backup PF and use the first elsewhere.

Guy is a winner. Though he's built like Darren Collison. He could backup FVV.
