Under 6 ft point guard, had 91 points in last 24 hours. 40 vs Davidson 51 vs USC, seemed to hit from anywhere he wanted.

Maryland better not come out slow or they could find themselves down 30 in the first half. Just ask USC.

Too bad for him he's short, or else he'd be a lottery pick already.

Howard and Cowan should be a fun matchup on Sunday. Will have to tape that one at 1pmET since Ravens are playing 49ers.

Ayala gets the start. Mitchell goes to the bench. Smith with 2 blocks at the rim already.

Terps playing with good energy on defense but it’s still only a two point game.

Smith with his 3rd block. Up 10 now

Feels like Bailey for Marquette is keeping them in the game, offense and defense so far.

Maryland holds Howard to 6 points. They looked like the better team right from the start.
Cowan wins MVP. Morsell played great too.

Morsell looked like the best player on the team - which really surprised me. What's great to see is Maryland running. That's how to use Cowan - he's much better running the court than running a half court offense. And it's fun to run - easy baskets! And it lets MD take advantage of its depth. This is as deep a MD team as I can remember.

Man, those 3 freshmen - Scott and the Mitchell brothers - add some muscle and physicality off the bench - even if they are all green.

Makes ya wonder if G-town let their recruiting standards go down too far for the basketball program - considering it's a school with high academic requirements.

3rd ranked Terps playing Notre Dame on ESPN at 7:30. ND has experience big John Mooney and small TJ Gibbs leading them. Mooney's a moose - great rebounder with good hands - and can hit the 3 if you leave him open.

Nice way to finish the first half.

Terps making it look easy, win by 21. (I’m ignoring the slow start)

So far so good. They're off to a great start at 9-0.

This is definitely a good defensive group.

Yeah, Wiggins and Morsell are as athletic and good defensively as any pair of wings in the country - even if they use Morsell as a PF. And Stix is looking good as the shot-blocker. The freshman all look like talented defenders. And the defense could tick up even more when they activate the 7 footer - Marial. Really, they need the team 3 point shooting to improve. Cowan is the only player hitting more than a third of his 3's. We know from last season that Wiggins and Ayala can shoot em much better than they have.

In late October it was reported Marial would have surgery early September, require 3-4 months to heal, and that a mid-season return to the team would depend on the impact towards his long term health. I’m not seeing an update on how he’s doing. Anyone seen anything regarding his return?
