Very Houston for them to have one of the most baffling calls I've ever seen go against them and find a way to make people like them even less.

The only way the Rockets could become a more dislikable team is if LaVar Ball became their mascot.

I also mentioned had they not done it they'd been in position to get CP3 (not that I would want him, but knowing the Knicks want their star/name) and would not only get him but likely paid in 1sts to take his contract into their space. Classic Knicks being stupid. I'll take the free money on their Wins Under again this year though.
They can have a ton of cap space again next year. Only Randle signed a longterm deal. Morris signed for 1 year, Portis has a team option next year, and Gibson, Payton, Ellington, and Bullock are only guaranteed for 1M next season. All of those guys are very tradeable for CP3 or whatever else becomes available if they decide to go that route.

Yeah, the Knicks have a pretty clean cap.

I kind of get the Rockets position if their version of event is correct (that they tried to challenge but the refs changed the call and there was some confusion).
That said- I don't get it when the call was made with 8 minutes to go and they ended up playing double overtime.

Totally random thought, but I think I could only enjoy watching the Rockets play basketball if they brought back some of those prime- hakeem era jerseys, prior to the barkley years of course.

True. I generally like Randle but still you'd be better off with the space. And taking on CP3 scenario I speak of you'd want the cap so you can take him on without giving salary back to OKC. That's what would get OKC excited enough to give you some of the 1st with him. If you give them back other crap it hurts it a bit. Bottomline, the team they built had no chance while costing way more money and making their cap space more difficult. Yea none of it is crippling like the Stoudemire type deal but it was all still dumb. I mean, simply at least don't have all your FA signings be the same position
simplest thing bad teams can do to rebuild is get paid in 1st to take on bad contracts. They made that more difficult and a perfect opportunity came up to do it and they couldn't due to signing 4 PFs in the same offseason

Looking more and more likely we’ll get the battle of LA in the WCF this year. Should be epic.

Assuming they hold on, the Lakers proved something these last two nights. Their easy schedule was cause for skepticism w/ a lot of people. Crazy thing is I'm not sure they've peaked, which is similar to how I feel about the Bucks.
Our first game vs them in a couple weeks will be epic. I imagine it'll be the highest stakes game in the Giannis-LeBron rivalry so far, which isn't saying much unfortunately.

The Lakers have peaked. i.e they aren't getting any better than they are now. But that peak is troubling, as they will be a problem in the West if LeBron stays healthy.

Guess I meant more in terms of eventual roster additions. I don't think they ride it out with these guys. You're right though, it has worked so far.

Just think that unless Mitchell can take the Lillard type leap, the Jazz are always gonna be pretenders. Well-coached squad and they're always gonna bring it defensively, but you can't scheme elite offense without elite offensive players.

Agreed. The media has been working overtime to get Iggy there for free.
But they really don't have any trade assets for a true talent. NOLA controls their draft for quite awhile.

The Clippers scare me more than the Lakers and my money is still on the Clippers coming out of the west. We would actually be a bad match up for the Lakers, if we win the east I would much rather face them than the Clippers in the finals if I had to pick between the 2.

yeah lakers don't have enough shooters and bucks shut down the paint. Lebron would get 2011 flashbacks

Will be interesting when Giannis and Lebron are choosing their allstar teams. I think Giannis gets first pick and takes AD. Either way I hope he teams up with Doncic.

I don't think either LA matchup is a particularly good one. They have the most intriguing subplots though, and you can't beat that in terms of entertainment value.

No way Lakers make it out of the west.
