I don't know what to tell you. It's really weird! But it also makes total sense.

I understand the theory behind it. It's probably pretty good. I'm not entirely anti-mayo. I do think it's overused, but I'm not opposed to a little spicy mayo on a sandwich.
I had a neighbor growing up who used to lather his steaks in ketchup before frying them. They'd come out with this brown crust on there that looked disgusting. So by comparison, mayo isn't so bad.

The whole key in thinking about it is to remember that you don't taste any mayo. Not even the slightest hint. The egg and oil literally burn away, leaving a perfect crust. I started doing that with grilled cheese earlier in the year after using butter my entire life, and yea holy **** it totally works.

Mayo for grilled cheese instead of butter is next level and an absolute requirement after having it once.

Just don't try that sear indoors. It smokes like crazy.

Just got a pair of KD11s that my daughter ordered. It appears as though they came from China. There's writing on the inside upper. Like a black stamp on a white shoe. Anyone ever heard of/seen this? Wondering how to get it off.

I guess that stupid writing is supposed to be on there, at least according to my 15 year old daughter. #notwoke

Last week I discovered Gourmet Makes and watched like 20 videos at work. I love that girl.

Claire is the best, by far. They are all great though if you like cooking vids. They're far more serious recipes than you'd get from something like Food Network, but the videos have personality and are not pretentious. They've started to get a little long, but the actual recipe vids don't exceed 10-15m.
Brad's It's Alive series is pretty funny. It's all about fermentation, it's basically a constant gag reel, and the editing is top-notch.

If you like cooking and curious about Balkan cultures check out Almazan kitchen on Youtube
Awesome Serbian cook, taking his skillet to some forest in Serbia, starts a fire by a river and churns out amazing stuff every time. Mostly international cooking but some Balkan specialites as well. No talking, no music, just the sound of the fire and the river, awesome cooking and some basic subtitles to understand what every ingredient is. Super relaxing to watch.

Ruiz weighed in 15 lbs over what he was in the first bout against Joshua. I don't think it'll matter. Joshua has no chin, is not a busy enough fighter and is allergic to clinching. Ruiz in 5, let's see how this ages by the time Saturday night rolls around.

Ruiz is giving me Buster Douglas vibes. He shocked the world, spent the next several months eating and drinking and celebrating, ballooned, and that's clearly impacted his training for this fight. Joshua has all of the motivation, and has obviously trained vigorously for this fight.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ruiz is KO'd by Round 3.

I get it, but Buster against Tyson was such a ridiculous outlier for his career. Ruiz's ascendancy has been far more linear than Buster's roller coaster journey to the title and Joshua's post-Klitschko career has vacillated between underwhelming and disastrous. Joshua has reportedly been getting tagged in camp. I think he's a broken fighter and Ruiz's combination of work rate, hand speed and accuracy will be toxic again for AJ.

Re: OT: General OT Thread [NO POLITICS OR RELIGION]
Judges agree. Joshua fights from distance the whole night and actually throws jabs. Looked like a new fighter. I don't think the weight gain affected Ruiz and his win over AJ wasn't flukey. Weird takeaway from this fight is that Ruiz looked like the more dangerous fighter. AJ used his reach and contrary to previous efforts where he ran out of gas, he stayed on the bike the whole fight. Not a bout with a lot of fireworks, but a good fight nonetheless. I'd take Fury over AJ clearly.
