GT: Nets @ Charlotte - 12/6/19, 7PM EST

Post#101 » by Paradise » Sat Dec 7, 2019 3:13 am

We won the last two games after I fell asleep during the first 2 minutes of the game. The last game I watched fully live was vs Miami and we lost.

What the hell is going on here!?

Musa was terrible my goodness.

Nwaba, Shumpert and Jordan gave us some nice minutes off the bench. Allen continues to impress me, Harris Shot the 3 ball well. Prince and Temple were solid. Nice win on the road. Let’s keep this going fellas.

edit: well in fairness it's not the same bench group. it was nwaba, shump and an engaged DJ

There it is, that's the key. Nwaba might of completely changed our bench outlook. Him and Shumpert matching energy rubbed off on DJ it seems like. More of these guys, less of Musa and Pinson, even though Pinson was ok today he still missed 8 shots.

Theo's part of this 8-3 record since Kyrie went down. He's a big part of the chemistry it makes up for some of his mishaps.
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Lmao try saying this with a straight face. He's a big part of killing the momentum and giving up the lead, I'll give him that.

Who says no to this rotation?

My only worry would be a lack of size with Shump, Temple and Nwaba at the 2/3/4. They could switch everything as those 3 and Din are all 6’5 so that should interrupt some offense along the way.

I think if we go with that, Nwaba is at the 4 and Temple at 3, Shump at 2

How good do you think most 3rd string point guards are? I think your expectations are too high for him.

Man, Kenny's got these boys playing. Continues to prove he's one of the elite coaches in this league.

This stretch has been huge. I know we've been beating up on bad teams but we EASILY could've let this slide into danger zone. Really important for guys like Prince, DJ, Temple to see first hand that this stuff works. Once we bring back Kyrie and LeVert, we're gonna hit another level.

Pinson is bad but at least you don’t feel like he doesn’t belong in the rotation right now. But Musa is terrible I hope he starts playing better but right now he’s our worst player, I’d even consider giving Claxton his minutes.

That was just what I was thinking last night. I've only been catching about half of each game recently, but last night in particular I was struck by how much more... cohesive? professional? efficient? ...the team is playing, compared to the beginning of the year.

I don't think either the Nets fans who were grumbling earlier in the season about a coaching change or the NBA fans who've recently been mocking Kyrie remember that only a handful of players from last season came back this year. No matter what team you are, that kind of thing is naturally going to take some time to work out. For some reason this fact seems to be barely mentioned anywhere across the season.

Claxton totally deserves Musa's minutes right now, except for the fact that they're drastically different players who bring different things to the table, even if you entertain comparing them as PF's.

Musa's playing horribly, but he can potentially do lots of different things from the arc on in. I'm not sure if Claxton can function like that. From what I've seen he has some nice weapons when he can get the ball somewhere around the paint, which this offense doesn't normally feature. But just on principle alone I wouldn't mind seeing Claxton getting Djanan's minutes.

I keep thinking Musa is far better off in the G-league right now, but I keep getting brought back to the suspicion that the coaches feel he's closer to breaking through than us fans are seeing. I sure don't know what the explanation is if it's not that!

Graham is frontrunner for MIP. Dude can shoot, I was livid that we were giving him all those looks

He was only one who was making them. Dude going to be a problem.

Well Napier was miles better than Pinson. He was a 3rd stringer so there you go.

To be honest, I like Temple starting and Levert playing with the second unit

Irving / Dinwiddie
Harris / Levert
Temple / Shump
Prince / Nwaba
Allen / Jordan

(and when Durant is back next year, bump Prince to bench and run 11-man rotation with Nwaba getting some minutes still)

I think you only then use Pinson, Musa, Chandler, Rodi, and Claxton in case of long term injury or foul trouble.

This guys are really playing within themselves and as a unit. Dinwiddie and Joe have been huge leaders during this run. I really hope we'll do whatever is necessary to keep them.

Yea Joe Harris is such a pro, we need to sign him to an extension.

Read a nice quote about him "He continues to slay opponents on catch-and-shoot with a 68.1 eFG% on those shots, but Harris has become more than that this year. Less than half his shots are catch-and-shoot attempts this year, and he's been unassisted 17.4% of the time from his 10.7% last year." He keeps improving.
