Eh" I still don't think Miami is on the level as Milwaukee, Boston or Toronto. They got destroyed by Philly a few weeks ago yet they talk smack about beating the Wizards or any other lottery team. That's from a personal standpoint. More power to them they are not winning anything.

There are also a lot of positives to take away from this, such as some good individual play. All the youngsters are playing well, and learning, but for one. I am getting a bit worried about Troy Brown.
I am as-well, his psychology reminds me of Jan Vesely, not confident in his shooting ability and it translates into a fearful style of play.

They played pretty well but Miami made some clutch shots in the 4th. We scored only 38 points in the 2nd half so i think fatigue was probably a factor.
Beal needs to get rid of the ball quicker when he gets trapped.
The defense is notably better without IT. I also think putting Bonga in the starting lineup is a good move. His defense is ahead of his offense right now which works well with the starters.
Bertans was our leading rebounder and that is not a good sign. We were outrebounded by 11 which gives little margin for error.
We are last in the league in rebounding rate.

Sorry about not getting a game thread up. Bad juju. The loss is on me. It looks like a pretty good tank loss though.
The Wizards have posted a DRtg of 115.1 in the 2 games with Isaiah out. In the previous 13 games with Isaiah as a starter, the DRtg is an unfathomly bad 120.0!

Rui played 39 minutes and committed just 1 foul. Again, he needs to gamble a bit more - trade some fouls for steals and blocks.

Does so many of the little things well. Doesn't have to score 30, but can score 20. I think Brown needs the ball and when it's in Beal's hands most of the time, he kind of wanders around. Beal is looking for himself, a screen or an open three-point shooter. If he's in the second unit, Brooks needs to trust him and give him the ball more. Make him the distributor.
I think this is a key to utilizing Brown more effectively...and giving him the confidence he needs to be successful. Troy is probably the most instinctive passer on the team...check out some of the passes he's made the last two games. The Zards need to utilize the strength by allowing him to handle and distribute more often.
On top of that, it looks to me like Beal is already starting to wear down from essentially playing both PG & SG most night. Not only would I rest BB more, I'd take the ball out of his hands some by letting Troy run the offense.

For sure. & give the kid 25-30 minutes a night. Just let him play.
I also don't think he lacks confidence. Or that he plays scared. Or that he dribbles tentatively or whatever someone said that I'm obviously not exactly remembering clearly.
I think he's an exceptionally poised 20 year old kid who's playing in the NBA. Ok, he's not Luka Doncic. But, he's not hamburger either.
Troy Brown's 2 pt % is up over his rookie year. His FT% is up over his rookie year. Hi defensive boards are up over his rookie year. His offensive boards are way up. He's turning it over just a little more than last year -- but his steals are way way up, way more than making up for the TOs. His blocks are slightly up. He's slightly down on assists & just slightly up on fouls.
He's not doing that stuff by "playing scared." It's silly.
Troy's got one problem: the 3 isn't going in for him. That's it.
When Rui can't shoot the 3, it's 'don't worry; he'll learn to. It'll come around.' When Troy Brown can't shoot the 3, it's 'he'll never be good, because he can't shoot.'
Sorry, Troy -- you are not flavor of the month any more!
Watch closely, Rui -- that's how they're gonna treat you next year!
