...I also want to add that I hate when new Cub fans talk about the misery, then have no clue about 89, all they talk about is 03, ya know when they hopped on the bandwagon. I hate that.
Tell me who Ryne Sandberg is? Ryan who?
Ahhhh stfu.

And the sad part is all of them would have reached for the ball. Just like everyone in that pack around him did. They are just looking for an excuse to why their team couldnt pull it out. Anther excuse or 'curse' why their team can't win it.

I agree that most people, including yourself, probably would have reached for the ball. But to address your last line, I don't believe in the curse. All of my friends that are Cubs fans (true Cubs fans) don't believe in the curse. The players don't believe in the curse, the only people that believe in the curse are the media, and due to this, fans of other teams such as yourself. I'm not trying to be a prick here, but when people refer to "The Curse" I think it's a load of garbage. The Cubs haven't won because they have put crap on the field...and when they don't have crap on the field they have a crap manager. You know what, that kind of reminds me of the Brewers. I had to get one shot in.

The only people that believe in curses are the media to promote the team and how it's cool to follow them so you can help break the curse, the bandwagon fans who follow any line that the media gives them or the extremely superstitious real fans.

I agree with you. I just have one question, though. If you believe this, and I think you do, then why bother bringing up the topic of "The Curse"?
The only response is that I think maybe you'll get under some Cubs fans skin, and I'm fine by that. But I just think you'll only get under those bandwagoner's skin and those EXTREMELY supersticious fans.
good luck the next two games.

Because much like the case with Cubs fans believing in "the curse," you have fans of the Brewers, the White Sox, the Cards, etc. who seem to hate the Cubs more than like (insert team), and will find any sort of stupid, media created reason to hate the Cubs, which brings us to "the curse." Diehard fans of any team know that curses against the Red Sox and Cubs never exist, it's the bandwagon fans of any team that keep the story going.

I didn't bring this up. This was my first response in this thread.

i like the explanation. It is funny that a team with no history of winning at all can attain as much antipathy from three different teams. I guess it's all location, location, location.
