DJ/Joe/Prince for Love/McKinnie: whaddya think?
I come in peace. I know that the team is rolling, and a trade is not on the forefront of anyone's mind. Just hear me out.
We have come up in the rumor mill, as a team that would be willing to trade for Kevin Love. Please, please, PLEASE, set aside your subjective opinions, and let's have an objective discussion about the merits. Here are points that I feel tip us in favor of a deal:
1) Trading for Love would give us a big 2-way stretch PF, to match up against some of the bigger contending frontcourts. We've been steamrolled by Indy, and they're not as imposing as Toronto, Philly, Milwaukee or some of the top teams we'll see out West.
2) As much as KL would be an upgrade offensively, he'd be even more of an upgrade defensively. I don't mean to downplay Taurean's contributions, he's done a yeoman's job as our undersized 4. But he's kinda hitting his ceiling iMO, while Love would give us a different level. He could also soak up minutes at the 5.
3) Playing FO defense is not a sexy reason for a trade, but honestly, it must be considered. Kevin Love coming here means that Kevin Love does not go to Boston, or Toronto, or somewhere else than might make our path forward even tougher.
Here's my idea of the deal: Jordan/Harris/Prince/PHI1st for Love/McKinnie
Truly, DeAndre is a friend of both KD and Irving, but I think Love is to some degree as well. Taurean is close with KD, but hopefully, Kyrie and Durant understand the bigger picture that this improves us. We also shed a roster spot, which means that we don't have to cut or trade anyone else.
So, what are your thoughts?

Re: DJ/Joe/Prince for Love/McKinnie: whaddya think?
Bro hell no . He doesn't fit here. He's way too slow defensively to play the 4 and he's not big enough for the 5. Marks likes mobile forwards and forward hybrids to play the 4, hence Prince/KD/ DMC. We like guys that can play both forward positions and we use both of them at forward position instead of the traditional 4 and not a big stiff like Love. This is a new NBA now. And plus, no way I'm trading a top 3 shooter in the NBA for a guy that's always injured. That is too much value for Love anyway.
I can see a trade for a guy like Aaron Gordon, even though I don't want him since he regressed. The guy I really want is Isaac from Orlando. He can play both forward position and he's a DPOY potential and would be a nightmare next to KD. I would like Covington too.

Nope. Not even entertaining this. Jordan is a solid back up center, Joe is an elite shooter and Prince is shooting 41% from deep.

Hell No... why lose our best 3pt shooter and one of the league’s best for Love?

This team isn't making any major trades. Our guys are lockdown on long-term team deals (caris jordan prince) or short term team friendly deals (Joe and Spencer).

Remove Harris and add Levert and i do it gun to my head although id also swap the philly first for a pair of seconds if i could.
Jordan/Levert/Prince two 2nds for love id do although id try and exclude jordan as he really doesnt fit their team anyhow at his age.
Harris is a deal breaker for me

Re: DJ/Joe/Prince for Love/McKinnie: whaddya think?
Hell No! Love has one of the worst contracts in the NBA. He’s also injury prone and can’t defend any positions.
Is Love going to help us defend Giannis or Embiid?
Not only that but when KD comes back, he’s not going to be playing 82 games every year. We need as much depth as possible and keep KD fresh for the playoffs.
If we add Love we would literally have 3 high injury risk players in Kyrie, KD, and Love at the same time... with no depth.
The game has passed Love by. Versatile defenders who can guard multiple positions is the new NBA. Love can’t guard anyone. He is a liability on defense on a team that already struggles defensively.
No chance in hell Marks would even entertain this trade. This entire thread should be deleted.

Re: DJ/Joe/Prince for Love/McKinnie: whaddya think?
Statistically, Love is a significantly better overall defender than Prince. This "horrible defender" narrative on Kevin has always been inaccurate, even in his Minnesota days it wasn't horrible. He has improved with age because he anticipates, his D won't drop off due to age.
I'm not a Love Stan (see what I did there?) at all, and this is literally the first trade I've ever created with him coming to Brooklyn. I agree that he's not an ideal fit here, and I really wanted to see us think about it.
If nothing else, this little thought experiment makes us value and appreciate our players all the more.

This is a dumb trade... Why would you get rid of Harris for Love. You need to add a hell no to your options.

I could trade DJ (no hesitation) and Prince, but not Joe Harris. Not losing our best shooters for unreliable Kevin Love.

This trade simply doesnt work (no do most trades for us) since we dont have the salary to match. Love makes 29 million.
DJ+Harris+prince is only 20 million. swap harris for levert and its only 15 million. we would need to add dinwiddie or templae and levert to match salary.
A trade next year/in the offseason once levert and prince's extensions kick in is more feasible.

Barf inducing trade. Trade makes zero sense for the Nets. None.
I don't think that trade makes the Nets better, actually probably worse considering Love's injury history.

Are you insane?
Love is washed and one of the worst contracts of the league. Hes making 30 million dollars and hes not even an All Star level player anymore.
I would not do Kevin Love for Joe Harris straight up. Forget the other pieces.
Love has never been worth the hype and his contributions to that Championship Cavs team were minimal at best.

This is absolute nonsense.
Prince has one of the best defenders on our team this year. We have been better defensively this year compared to last year, and Prince has a huge role in that.
The Cavs are AWFUL defensively. And were terrible LeBron's entire 2nd run in Cleveland, in large part due to Love.

I would prefer to keep the depth that we have and add KD to it.
There's no reason to trade anyone unless it's a star who wants to come here, like a Bradley Beal

WHAT ?! You can't be serious Prok. Love can barely play half of season and his All star days are long gone. Beal >>>>>Love by 50 miles.

Comon man.
Beal is having an incredible season. Hes easily a top 15 player. Love is not top 20 under any measure.
