Davis Bertans

Post#1 » by 13th Man » Wed Dec 11, 2019 2:12 am

Ok, this guy deserves his own thread right now. Just check out his 3pt shooting stats for this year just crazy, he's lighting it up tonight as well, 8 for 12 long range.

The Spurs really messed up by basically giving him up for nothing last year. The NBA also snubbed him from the 3 point contest last year while he had the best percentage at the time. This dude is playing like he's on a mission and with a vengeance!

Yeah but when you can get Marcus Morris, you make that move every time.

Bruh, I'm watching this game. I've watched the whole game. This guy is ridiculous. He's just pulling from Steph Curry range with guys right in his face. Off the dribble, off screens, bringing the ball up the court pulling up. He's making every thing. I can't really remember when I've seen a shooting exhibition like this. Klay Thompson I guess.

No you don’t. Any contender or playoff team would take Bertans over Morris in a heartbeat.

Tonight, he was +17 in his 30 minutes on court and the Wizards were -24 in the 18 minutes he was off court.

He was the sole reason Wizards were even in this game. Wizards came back from 2 double digit deficits with him on the floor. The 2nd 16 point deficit he basically erased by himself. Guy's insane shooter. How can you marginalize such elite shooter like Pop did?

Haha, I was kidding. It was a complete bonehead move but highlighted that he bailed on SAS.

Buttttttt, if you get a chance to go to The Knicks, then you take that every time.

2 4 point plays this game. Yes, the key with him is almost every 3 is contested. He's the man of the Wizards right now, Beal just an inefficient decoy most of the time.

45% 3pt shooting on 8.5 attempts per game is pretty crazy....that's Curry territory. I still don't understand why Spurs wanted to let Bertans go to sign Morris.

And a lot of these shots aren't easy looks either, many are contested or are way out there like the last made one in tonight's game lol.

Haha can never be sure on the GB

Dude is killing it. He’s pulling up and spotting up from 30 feet and splashing 3s with a hand in his face like it’s nothing. Crazy. And he’s only 27. Definitely getting a nice pay day this summer.

any chance the Wizards put him up for trade to get picks since he's expiring, or do you think they will try to re-sign him

His shooting doesn’t seem to hold up very well in the post-season, 33% FG / 30% 3PT in his 23 playoff games so far and unable to get up as many shots. Also not sure what he brings for you on defense and on the glass as a 4 man. Of course it could change, though we certainly won’t find out this season if he stays on Washington.

Morris is a better shooter in the post-season, better rebounder, and better and more versatile defensive player. That usually is more beneficial to playoff teams than a guy like Bertans based on what we’ve seen from him so far in the playoffs.
