Garland's production and shooting has picked up over the last few weeks.

He's now shooting over 40% from three over his last ten games. Now he just needs to develop a nice floater to improve his scoring numbers in the paint and keep defenders off balance.

Fans set lofty goals for highly touted rookies, but the Cavs are force-feeding him minutes like they did with Sexton last year and the only thing they should be hoping for is that he continues to learn, engages with the coaches,and is making progress. We may not see what they hope he will be this season, but the glimpses of it should become more frequent.

The fact his 3pt% has climbed up is a sign of progress that's been aided by him forcing up less of them. Still, it's been hard for the team to generate open looks from 3 for anybody let alone their PG.

If they feel he's regressing or not holding up his end of the bargain, that's when they should re-think their approach; but what I'd do is focus on trying to improve the floor spacing. Working on that floater is important, but I think he (and pretty much the entire team) would be able to finish around the rim more often if every defender wasn't standing around the paint waiting to block, strip, or steal his pass.

Everyone on the team is trying to learn the new systems. That makes it extra hard for young players to just slide in to a role when everyone is struggling with trying to execute and aren't on the same page. So, if the team starts to really grasp what's being taught a lot of things would improve - but that could literally take years.

bust is not out of the question if they keep this line up much longer, he should be putting up huge numbers on this team with few scoring options but he isn't.
He just wasn't ready, they either didn't know it ( doubtful) or did and don't care because they think playing time developing trashy habits is more important than reps in a working system or at least one that doesn't ask too much from him too soon.
