You dont usually do this. Teams usually dont adjust their defense game to game. This is why playoffs basketball is different and why not just relying on 1-2 guys on offense is important. Lakers will realize that they arent as good in the playoffs.

Brad Stevens used to do this his first few years in Boston but yeah its very rare for teams to bring out different gameplans during the regular season. I wonder why Nick Nurse is doing this so early in the season.

Because thats the only way they can overachieve by cancelling the “kawhi”s and other superstars and making it a battle of role players. In the regular season and the playoffs.

Love how Jimmy is having fun in Miami. He definitely made the right choice, much better coach and culture. Still miss him tho.

That's the problem with Jimmy. He's at his best when he's on the ball as the only star player, playing with a bunch of role players. His inability and unwillingness to play off the ball is why he could never play with other stars and why he ultimately won't achieve any postseason success.

Does anyone think Miami matches up well with any 2nd round opponent?

RPM must look pretty off for ESPN to have not released it yet. It usually comes out in November.

Objectively, we seem to be doing pretty well. Would you look at that Philadelphia.

Jayson Tatum number 4? Wow. And 2nd in DRPM.

Terence Davis in the top 25 is surprising this early in his career.

Jimmy Butler is the destitute man's LeBron James. He's at his best with the ball in his hands, and isn't very effective off the the ball. But unlike LeBron, if he's your best player and you're running your offense through him, you're not going to get out of the 1st round.

You guys think losing Jimmy took some type of edge out the 6's this year? I know Al and J.Rich much better complimentary pieces to Biid and Ben, but still how do we measure leadership. Guys on TnT also speculated on fact that there's no urge in that 6's team.
As a Boys fan bring that week 16 dumpster fire out  .

Yeah, I definitely think some of that is at play.

Butler, Redick, and McConnell were all feisty, passionate guys that held people accountable.

J Rich is fine, but Horford didn't add anything to this lockerroom. He doesn't lead people, he just handles his own business. Boston deteriorated while he was there and he didn't do anything to pick guys up and fix that situation.

Lakers just waived Zach Norvell, wow.

If we want a 6'5" 200 pound shooter, there's a good one available.

My boy Zach Norvelle got cut by the Lakers today. Id like the 76ers to attempt to sign him to their G-league team. But if he's any good, he'll likely get picked up by either Toronto or Miami.

Not sure how the Celtics can play a guy this small at center. Sabonis is a smaller guy and he gets to his spot and basically goes through him. In the playoffs teams are gonna game plan this.

Grant Williams isn't an NBA player. He won't be playing in the playoffs. The Celtics are just trying to justify their picks in the early part of the season. If Grant Williams sticks, it'll be a TJ McConnell situation, where he plays so hard the coach falls in love with an overmatched player.
