It will get better, but I really don't think the offense of the clippers is why he struggled tonight. More so, the raptors defense frustrated him doubling him all the time, and instead of taking a few steps and shooting a two, he launched it from three. I don't think the raptors did that great of a job defending him. I think he was exhausted from guarding siakam and exhausted from being doubled.

I didn't keep track of who D-ed who tonight, but if you're correct, PG was plus+15 and Siakam was minus-16.

I don't give a spit about the other stats. And I don't care about people's "eye tests" if they're not supported by the stats. If PG was guarding Siakam all night, and he was a little rubber-legged down the other end shutting him down, so be it. Just win your matchup, beat your man, and your team will win.

We won. :D

Yes, he was excellent on the defensive end tonight, he just hawked pretty much the whole game. Leonard hawked lowry the whole game as well. Poor raptors couldn't get anything going. is this it for the season? Really would like to see the clips play them again with both teams at full strength, same with the bucks(but the bucks series is over..for now)

In a previous post I said the Clippers were not playing their playoff defense yet. If what you say here is accurate, they played their playoff defense tonight, man-to-man.

Kawhi>Lowry
PG>Siakam

and of course Bev>Van Vleet

Now to be truthful, when Bev went down, in the 3rdQ Doc said we went to a semi-f***ed-up zone just to give our remaining guys a rest. But he also said our 2ndQ was where we might have played our best D of the year. Raptors scored 14 points. We scored 37. That a plus+23 if my computer-like mind is correct, Mike Smith. :D

I forgot about moe, when he was switched on to lowry too, he did a great job. It was a great defensive performance. I thought the referees kinda took the raptors out of the game early with the unneeded whistles. The refs killed any momentum they got, their "kawhi-defender" as I'm calling him, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson picked up 4 fouls in the 2nd quarter alone iirc and after that, they just had no wind in their sails. Not saying they lost because of that, but I felt they were dejected after that. Nick Nurse picked up a quick tech for that and they never bounced back. Moments like that are where you can see kawhi's presence is missed. Someone that can go get you a much needed basket or a much needed stop.

Pascal is a great budding all star, but he's no leonard(I, mean who is right?). He wasn't there defensively for most of the night, but got two nice blocks on Paul george

I enjoyed how dominant this win was. I was expecting fireworks though. I was expecting leonard to go off for 35, PG for 27 and like down to the last five mins of the 4th, but this way is much more better for my stress levels and a much more dominant win.

Thx for D report. Any mook can look at the box score the next morning and when somebody went 3-14 from the field, assume he had a bad game. But when he also went for plus+15, there's probably more to the story. [PG]

And even though Harkless was minus-2, to put in 30 minutes and break pretty much even, while guarding Toronto's best is a win too. Lou and Trezz mopped up the rest. And that's how we do it.

Nippy think PG guarded Siakam like 6 possessions all game didn’t really count it but he definitely had a variety of defenders. It seems like when PG had Siakam on him the team went to more of a double team defense.

As for his defense he struggled a bit on reads using zone defense got lost on some back cuts.

On the other end he really just had a terrible scoring night. You can use the video plus the play by play if you didn’t see the game live to show he wasn’t doubled and had plenty of great looks that just didn’t fall. Reason have to more context with the stats because you can clearly see PG being force fed in the third when having a off night led to a lot of the easy buckets the raptors got off misses.

PG is my favorite I’m sure he will bounce back just a terrible night but was lifted by the team

No idea why the vids are in Spanish now lol

Oops meant to quote this one but the win was mostly in the bag since the 2nd. We came out the gate with pretty low energy but even what Doc hasn’t realized is the starters are a grind it out unit. With all of the emotions being close after the first after how intense they came out the gate was a win. Let Harrell and Lou beat up on the second unit then ramp up the action.

3rd quarter we tried to hard to put up numbers for PG rather than play in rhythm

paul george looks great tonight.

much more diversity in his actions than we've seen for a while now. understandably it's easier to do anything you want to do against the wolves, but once they start really getting used to the offense, george is going to see a lot more opportunities to do a lot more of what he's done so far tonight.

He was great tonight aside from the turnovers. Leonard was great in the first half and some in the third qtr

But this is the type of PG I've been expecting. Someone who doesn't settle and he didn't. He took alot of threes but he wasn't in love with it. He wasn't settling. He was taking all of them in rhythym

back to back practices was probably not a good idea. But I guess he wanted to give them a day off before a game and didn't want to practice on monday due to coming off back to back.

He doesn't have a strain as reported. It's still tighteness
