Plain ridiculous shots.

Scott Brooks has really given him the green light. Some of those shots are sit your ass on the bench worthy.

His shot is exactly the same motion from the waste up. That's why he's making shots from everywhere. The fundamentals of his shooting motion remind me of another gunner from back in the day who could do similar things.... Pete Maravich.

I like Ja Morant... I usually don't pay a lot of attention to the young guys until they've been in the league 4 or 5 years, unless they're Lakers... But Ja Morant has a lot going for him and is fun to watch.

In a couple of years when he gets into his 4th season, I recommended you check out this player named Luka Doncic, you’ll really like him once you get around to giving his some attention.

I'd think so.... It seems every team has a "max" player these days. In the past it was 5-10 in the league and they were true difference makers. He's got stats but he's not truly making a difference on that team. My guess is that his stats will take a dip once Zion gets back. Lots of overlap in the two of them.

D'Angelo Russell Reveals Why He Regrets Ignoring Kobe Bryant's Advice on Lakers

Image

Russell told Anthony Slater of The Athletic in an interview released Wednesday he now realizes what the five-time NBA champion was trying to preach to him:

"Looking back on it, he dropped so many jewels on me that I didn't even hear because I was not there mentally. I remember one time we were in Houston and I went to his room with his security guard. Kobe comes in and says, 'You know, when you go on these road trips, you want to have fun, you want to turn up, you want to do all that in these cities.' But he said, 'I gained an edge by taking meetings on these road trips, business meetings. What can I do to establish my brand, figure out what I like to do, advance my life after basketball?'"

Russell said it's a lesson many athletes don't learn until it's too late to capitalize on their peak popularity.

"But looking back on it, I'm like, man, he was really teaching me what's really relevant now and a lot of kids don't get it until they're 8-10 years in and realize what they want to do," he told Slater. "Then they attack it, but they're on their way out and their (ability to make money) isn't the same."

Landsberger, you are so right in this! What an astute observation. His shot form is the closest to Pistol Pete’s I’ve ever seen. One difference is that this kid has a wider and more stabile lower body setup. Kind of like Klay in the way that he goes up for his shot. His upper body mechanics looks eerily much alike Maravich’s. Pistol Pete is my favorite player of all time.

We could use his shooting for sure! Perfect fit offensively.

The big question: How is his defense? Did Pop give up on him because of that, or why?
NBA titles since the merger: LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4.
