Denver Trades: P. Millsap, M. Beasley, J. Hernangomez, MPJ
NYK Trades: M. Morris, J, Randle, F. Ntilkina
Why for Denver:
Nuggets need to make a move to solidify contention. Going after a longer deal like Love is risky. Blake has injury concerns. Here they add not one, but two nice PFs that can be core pieces in their rotation. Moriss adds some toughness and spacing at the 4. Randle can be a great 6th man and be a go to option down the stretch.
Frank is not to be overlooked here by any means. He is a defensive specialist that can be critical to helping stop opposing guards in playoff series. Would have been helpful last year vs. Portland
Why for NYK:
NY cleans out their PF glut and instead focues on flyers. Beasley can get more run as a 3rd guard in NY's rotation. MPJ could be elevated into a starting role next to a young Robinson, as a small ball 4. Hernangomez could be a nice spacing big off the pine. Overall, the moves make way for NY to force a youth movement. Millsap is bought out.

Aside from Hernangomez almost every Denver piece is more valuable than every Knick piece.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Re: DEN/NYK - Flyers for Contenders
I agree with the OP that the "Nuggets need to make a move to solidify" and "Here they add not one, but two nice PFs" but do not agree that they can be "core pieces", at least not both of them.
Perhaps the OP is not too far off with "Frank is not to be overlooked here by any means. He is a defensive specialist that can be critical to helping stop opposing guards in playoff series. Would have been helpful last year vs. Portland" But Beasley & Murray have both shown defensive improvement and Morris is only in his second year and while not flashy or showy and not getting a lot of chance to show his stuff, he's a solid two-way player.
Overall, Denver seems to be giving up too much - which could work out okay except the fit is all wrong.
Millsap for Morris? No way. (But I do like the idea of Morris in Denver.)
Millsap for Randle? No way. Millsap's more valuable than either. Adding both doesn't make sense since Denver has Grant + Vanderbilt already at that spot (and Cancar and maybe Bol).
Granted, Hernangomez is probably not at the same market level as Morris & Randle, but he's a better fit in Denver.
Beasley for Ntilkina? Nope; Beasley's potential is probably higher or at least a better gamble, especially at SG and Denver's PG is set with Murray & Morris, both of whom are better than Ntilkina. There's no room in the rotation for him.
Denver's not interested in trading Porter for anything that anyone is willing to give up. They gambled on his potential and they're going to see it through.

Some version of MPJ for Knox is the only thing I see happening between the two teams.
