The Heat will not release him until they have exhausted all option to recoup some of sort of asset for him. Also, they will wait until he is no longer eligible to play in the post season then cut him .

solution: work with the players association to find a compromise to keep him away from the team and task his agent with finding a trade or come up with buy out numbers
