Time for Casey to show some tough love towards Griffin

Post#1 » by davidvolumes » Fri Dec 13, 2019 5:36 pm

Blake's last two games he shot for 4:19 from the two point line and one for 13 from the 3-point line. He log 64 minutes in those two games. In the meantime in the last two games Woods Logged 29 minutes. I don't know the degree of injury to Blake but I do see how his play is hurting the team. If he's hurt reduce his minutes dramatically and play Christian Woods more. if it's just bad play reduce his minutes dramatically and play Christian Woods more. Either way it's Casey's next move

Absolutely NOT. It's been only 13 measly games for crying out loud and he is coming back from a minor knee injury. Give him until the allstar break to round back into form. He has had bad stretches before with us and has bounced back even better than before.

Tough love is not the issue. I'm sure Blake is just as frustrated with his play as we and Casey are. Benching him or significantly dropping his minutes is a sure fire way to destroy any opportunity of him getting his value back up.

It's a tough situation but hopefully the coaching staff and doctors have a feel for when he will be back at full strength (if at all?). Last season it took Reggie a few months to round into form and then was great after the all-star break. Blake is only 30 years old so he is still in his prime, however, many careers are ended early due to injuries. I guess time will tell.

The problem is that Blake clearly is playing hurt. He looks like an old man trying to run up and down the floor. Presumably the training staff has determined he's not going to risk further injury by playing his way back into shape, but man it's ugly to watch.

Man, Blake looks terrible. What a shame the Pistons didn't sell high on him last year.
