He's always been a dead-eye. I'll never forget some of the games he played for Partizan Belgrade and one 3pt shot particularly.

Saw him live against the Sixers last week. I think he started out by hitting his first six threes. Completely changed momentum.

Re: Davis Bertans
alot of players are sharpshooters at the moment lets wait out the season first as i imagine George hill wont keep up his 51% from 3 as wont others. there are currently 10 players shooting 45% or more from 3 thats just ridiculous, some are like bertans shooting 6-8 a game.
we have guys like bertans and devonte graham trailing just a little behind Harden in total made 3s. Harden is 107-317 from 3 while bertans is 92-198, 15 more 3s for harden and he shot 119 more then bertans and Graham 96-228, 11 more for harden and 89 more shots then Graham. thats just ridiculous and shows harden is just a chucker.

Bertans had plenty of opportunities but was borderline unplayable at times with his terrible D and bonehead decisions.
And based on everything that happened up until the chance to sign Morris, every team would choose Morris.
Also keep in mind Bertans' new team is allowing a league worst 122pts a game.
Sure he is playing really well and is a great guy I'm happy for, but don't overstate his value.
Plus Morris is 48% from deep taking making 2.8 3s a game so the one thing Bertans can even do Morris also does at a high level.

He may as well be shooting 100% from 3 against the Clippers. He's murdered us.

He is what Mirza Teletovic supposed to be. Mirza would shoot crazy 34 footers, but he never was this consistent.

Re: Davis Bertans
Another senile Spurs front office special. Somehow didn't realize he was one of the most impactful offensive role players in the league (even though it was obvious) and gave him away in an attempt to sign a lesser impact player.
They didn't have the sense to realize they could have instead dumped Belinelli + Metu, if necessary, by adding a sweetner like 2 2nds or the rights to Milutinov.
They've now given away a top 5 player and 3 impact role players (Green, Anderson, Bertans) in the past 1.5 years for 1 impact role player (Poeltl), yet media and casual fan continues to give them way too much credit for the previous success of this organization and not nearly enough to the players.

The Spurs really messed up by basically giving him up for nothing last year. The NBA also snubbed him from the 3 point contest last year while he had the best percentage at the time. This dude is playing like he's on a mission and with a vengeance!
Bertans is fun, and underrated..
He's a very good regular season role-player, was key to Spurs being a decent team the last 2 years, and helping them get wins. Not afraid of taking and making big shots.
Only problem is he'll disappear in the playoffs environment, and be a defensive liability too often at the same time. This happened both times he's been in the Spurs rotation the last two seasons' postseasons.

No you don’t. Any contender or playoff team would take Bertans over Morris in a heartbeat.
No they wouldn’t especially when you consider how awful Bertans is on defense.
Yeah this is wrong (Bertans over Morris), and a number of people in this thread haven't watched nearly enough of Marcus Morris, since at least he was with Washington, or of course Boston.
Morris is a much more versatile player, and on both ends, and is a proven playoff player. He's one of the most clutch and toughest players on both ends of the floor. Honestly, and while maybe a bit of an exaggeration, he is the closest thing to a modern day Robert Horry the league has had.
Morris is not as long or the athlete Robert was up until the end of his Lakers run, but checks the boxes otherwise.
Morris can score on his own much more reliably than Bertans is able to, mainly due to having more size, polish, and quickness.
Bertans has yet to be even almost the player he's been in the regular season, the last two seasons in the playoffs. Likely won't get another chance this year to try and prove himself in the postseason, though.
I'm taking Marcus Morris every single time over Bertans at forward.

Because he gets exposed every year in the playoffs? Teams stick to him like glue and they target him in one on one matchups ..Too slow to guard 3s and not strong enough to defend bigger players
He's one of the best catch-and-shoot 3pt shooters in the league. 6'10 with a high release point, deep range, quick release for a 6'10 guy, moves well without the ball to get looks. I love what the Spurs have always been about, but they very clearly under-utilized Bertans. Scott Brooks has almost doubled his 3pt FGAs.
No, Bigfactssstackz is actually right about Bertans when it comes down to it-- can't really credibly ignore what was displayed in two postseason series when Bertans began to emerge in the two regular seasons that happened. Bertans has a great game, but hasn't done that well in the playoffs yet.
They let him go because they were going to upgrade what they had been missing at the 3/4. It was a great move at the time until Morris had a change of mind that was out of the Spurs control.

yeah he would definitely be on the always kills Dallas 1st team along with his former teammate LMA, Dre Miller, another ex-Spur Danny Green, and Trevor Ariza.

Bertans is 2nd in ORPM (Offensive Real Plus Minus) only behind LeBron and ahead of Harden.

As good as Bertans was the other night, Morris was even better tonight, putting up 36 points on 18 shots, plus 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
Plus Morris has a playoff track record of some success, and Bertans doesn't.
Fun to clown the Spurs for it I get it, but it actually was a defensible move for sure. Sucks though cuz now both players are being squandered on crap teams whereas either one would at least be competing for a playoff spot on the Spurs, but thems the breaks.

Let me guess... You still don't understand how I evaluate on-court/on-off/lineup data and you thought "Bertans has a better on-off than Embiid so GeorgeMarcus must think he's better." To which I would do my best Yoda impression and respond "much to learn you still have." For starters, Bertans is playing on one of the worst teams in the league. That's why in spite of his glaringly positive on-off, he's still only +1.5 on-court (compared to Embiid's +8.2). I've went over my approach in great detail on more than one occasion but it seems you're either unable or unwilling to process the information.

Right. So we take teammates strength in individual player evaluation.
So if Michael Jordan would play with high school players against NBA teams, despite having On/Off of like +40, if he would have -15 on-court with his terrible team he would still be worse than Embiid.
Got it.
If only we had mental gymnastics at the olympics. You would be rich and famous.

That's not close to anything I ever said or ever would say. It's like you're looking at Picasso's art work and saying "I can do better than that" just because the abstract brilliance sails over your head. Just to be clear, yes, I am Picasso in this analogy.
I'll quote you in the Embiid stat I just posted in hopes that you will someday see the light.

Not even if you can get Morris (seeing as they didn't) but if you even have a chance at Morris. Kinda like Lebron, if he agrees to sit down with you and listen to your pitch you clear the space. Doesn't matter how you do it you just do it
