i don't really like him but i'd be open to tristan thompson. though we wouldn't necessarily be able to make the salaries match

Why should Celtics need to match opponents? Why don't they just do their own thing and force opponents to match? Celtics have arguably the best 1-4 starting lineup in the NBA with Walker/Brown/Hayward/Tatum.

You guys talk like Thompson, Turner have shown to be some huge factors against big frontcourts when in reality Turner is a softie who gets constantly punked by guys like Embiid, Drummond. Thompson is a better rebounder than Theis but Theis can strech the floor, defend better and isn't gonna brick 50% of his FTs like Thompson. Enes Kanter has better rebounding numbers than Thompson. Better TRB%, ORB%, per36 rebounding. He just doesn't play as much.

I'm actually shocked how good Kanter's numbers look, especially on/off.

how did forcing our own opponents to match work the other night against philly and embiid?

look, I get what you're saying about Theis and Kanter but cmon.... let's be real. Unless we get some size, embiid and any other decently good offensive big man will eat us alive down the stretch and come playoff time for sure.

I think the next big fish that is going to be available is James Harden. Houston will disappoint in the playoffs and D’antoni will be fired that might lead to a James Harden trade demand.

I don't think any stars are moved next offseason, but that's just my opinion.

KAT is a logical choice, but his extension gives him no leverage and Minny might make the playoffs this year.

If hardens available it will only be because morey and the owner fight and he leaves or gets fired and the new owner takes a different directio. Morey loves harden and he loves stars and he will not enter a rebuild. Harden may like d’antoni but he ain’t gonna demand a trade if he’s fired.

Morey might be on the hot seat due to the China situation.

He would have already been fired. The real divide is that the owner only wants to pay the taxes for a team that can win it all. If they fail in the post season again, this time with another star in Westbrook added he may choose another direction.

He’ll be available cuz Fertita is dumb, cheap and meddlesome. Fertita will flip when they flame out this post season.

You are correct, that’s the only reason I gave it a chance but I still think unlikely but everything u said is why there’s a chance tho very small IMO

I don't think Harden is the next big fish.

Jokic, KAT... then Giannis. Maybe Beal in there as well.

Def KAT. Another missed playoffs would be ideal.

I don't see how this is a one the best starting lineup. not the way they folded against Indiana and Philly , not mention about that game in Brooklyn a few weeks ago. If this lineup is supposed to pan out Brown needs to take it to the next level on the offensive end, his handles are still quite poor. how many times do you see him travel or step out of bounds or get called for an offensive end. don't get me wrong but he is not a perennial all star like some posters here would like to glorify him. I would not hesitate to throw him in a package for Thompson / Love.

Still terrified Danny is going to trade Brown/Tatum for Harden over the summer

He doesn't have much leverage though, didn't he sign a 5-year deal?

Beal will always be the ‘Ray Allen’ and never be the ‘Kevin Garnett’. He has zero chance of being a top 5 player and would be incredibly disappointing if we cashed in al our chips for.

Giannis is still the guy were hoping for. KAT is in year 1 of a 5 year extension and wont be traded for a while. Jokic is more interesting, but his prone-ness for just being apathetic is concerning. I guess thats why he’d be hypothetically available.

His general apathy towards this season.

I dont think he’ll be available but I could see his act wearing Denver thin.

Beal and kemba can be your 2 top 20 guys and hope Tatum develops in your top 10 guy. Problem solved

Do we really want to trade Brown and Tatum for Giannis if he has a chance to leave as a free agent? My cousin hangs out with a couple of guys who work for the Raptors, and they said that Masai was pretty confident about signing him. And FWIW, ever since the rumors came out about the Knicks pursuing him, Masai has since become a tad less committed about his future in Toronto.

Granted, I don't know how legit my cousin's friends are, but if they are being truthful, then I think Masai ends up where ever Giannis decides he wants to go to. As bad as that organization is, Masai is probably confident enough that he can turn that thing around. Would be a hell of a lot easier trying to convince players to sign with the Knicks than it would be with Toronto, IMO.
