aggerrard wrote:Well, back to the lackluster performances again. Watford could easily have taking a point today - but it also shows the class in the team. Somehow we tend to play to the level of our opponents - but at the end the results have been the same so far this season, three points (besides utd game ofc).

A Win would go a long way.

As I mentioned....VVD was an absolutely massive signing, and plugged what I thought was our biggest hole perfectly (VVD, Allison, and several guys "grew" into solid defenders) ...but I do think Klopp should get some credit for adjustments as well. Our style is not what it was a couple seasons back. He also takes those bottom teams serious. I remember Klopp making some statement about how "it was just...." insert lower team, a few years ago. If I remember, we drew with them. And if I remember...that was like our 6th or 7th draw that season. I was furious with the guy, and that was probably the point where I truly wanted Klopp GONE. Like outa here.
The last couple seasons have not been that way, and we're doing much better at that. Klopp def deserves credit. I was wrong on him. I didn't think he'd be able to adjust to EPL, and take those lower teams serious.

Klopp should get ALL (almost, team behind him aswell) the credit.
If we rate the Klopp signings currently in the club:
Grujic - ? - have to wait and see, extended his contract, seems like Klopp believes in him
Grabara - ? - young
Mané - 10, one of the best players in the world
Matip - 10, free transfer
Wijnaldum - 9, could argue for a 10.
Salah - 10, like Mané. One of the best payers in the word
Robertson - 10, BARGAIN
Ox - 8, could've easily been a 9 or 10 if he didn't get injured
Virgil - 10, best defender in the world
Keita - 5, can't give him higher at the moment. But if he stays fit i could easily see him being a 8-10 at the end of the season
Fabinho - 10, IMO one of the best DMs in the world
Shaqiri - 7, cheap and decent performances. Injuries ruined most of 2019 for him
Alisson - 10, world class
Van den Berg - ?, have to wait and see
Elliott - ?, same ^
Adrian, 8 - decent backup as a free agent
Starting 11 of Klopp signings - let's include Trent, since Klopp moved him up from the youth.
Alisson
Trent - Matip - Virgil - Robbo
Fabinho
Gini - Keita/Ox
Mané - Salah - Shaq/Ox
I mean, the fact he have signed this group of players are insane. And the fact that no one were seen as world class players when they signed. Now it's almost a starting 11 of world domination.
And i gotta say - i know, everyone can say so now, i always supported Klopp. We took a HUGE step in the the first full season, from mediocrity under Rodgers in the end till a 4th place and a Euro League final. Then another 4th place and a Champions League final. Then an unheard of 97 point as a 2nd place in the league last season and a 6th Champions League triumph. And now we have won 25 of the last 26 Premier League games - the greatest streak of all time in the best english league.
If we, no jinx, win this damn Premier League titel after a 30 year drought, Klopp should get a statue next to Shankly - not kidding. Huge respect to the owners aswell, believing in him and wants to evolve the club. Expanding Anfield once and now looking to do it once again, going from just over 45000 to 54000 and hopefully 61000 when they expand Anfield road stand aswell. A new training ground aswell in Kirkby. FSG took over the club on the verge of bankruptcy and have transformed the club along with Rodgers and especially Klopp.
Happy times as a Liverpool fan. Almost tears of joy just thinking about the journey from Hodgson and near bankruptcy till now.

The only legit knock against klopp was the Karius signing. Which he realized was a failure & addressed it with Alisson.
I think we have to give Michael Edwards a lot of credit as well for the signings.
Brendo would have succeeded here I believe had they adequately replaced Suarez. Our recruitment is obviously night & day different.
aggerrard wrote:Edwards have done an amazing job, no doubt.
I doubt Rodgers could've done the same job as Klopp though - but okay, he didn't have the same saying as Klopp does when it came to signings. And i don't think Rodgers can/could attract the same players as Klopp, and the Rodgers project were running dead since we sold Suarez.

The main squad plays Wed.
Hope to see the young guys....haven't really paid much attention to them. We'll see if I get the game.
