End o 3rd. Just about as many defensive points as offensive points. That's a recipe for heartbreak I'm afraid.

Well the score didn't reflect the game. Not at all. I'm not feeling good about this team at all. Not at all. Defense might be top rated but it can and has get scored on. In the meantime the offense is just plain flat out dysfunctional. There's something really really wrong and for the life of me I can't understand with all the brain power and experience on this team it's still not figured out what to do about it. I guess at this point it must be lack of talent. Nothing you can do can coach lack of talent i guess.

This game is pretty much what I feared. Bills defense is tough. They just scored to go up 17-13. Our running game is better but no commitment to it. A TD called back and had to settle for a FG instead after an Edleman foul.

Much better offense this game. Just socred on a two point conversion. Pats up 17-24. Play some D now and bring it home.

Well not sure what there is to say here. Pats have made it tougher on themselves than they needed to. The percentages have to have narrowed considerably now. Not sure how or why the team became this dysfunctional. Except the noted lack of tight ends, the porous O-line and lack of receivers and injury to Edleman. What a shame for it to be falling apart like this. To be limping to the end like this. I don't know how much Brady is to blame but I do know no one has the desire to win and the focus and the preparation he does. We won't see anyone like him perhaps ever again. Too bad the Pats didn't commit more to him by protecting him more and giving him the weapons he needed to get the job done.

That was a good game leading up to the Pats fiasco. What a whimper. I guess it was a mercy killing. I've never seen the Pats so dysfunctional on offense. I guess Jason McCourty being out and Chung getting hurt didn't help the defense either. The Pats were painful to watch and perhaps it's a good thing they're gone. Now on to the Brady saga. I guess the Pats tried to get him some help with Brown and Gordon but it didn't pan out. What a season, from looking like world beaters with an excess of riches to going out with a whimper in a wild card game.

I think the Pats should do right by Brady and give him a two-year for decent money. If they don't I know I for one will be less of a fan. Bellichick is an evil genius, key on evil. He might be the best coach of all time but he's a sumbitch also. I guess I'm love/hate with him. He definitely knows how to build a championship team. but damn he is an ass at the same time. Should've been working on ring 7 or 8 if not maybe 9. Put it out of reach for perhaps ever. But the wounds to the Pats were all mostly self-inflicted with him making money and personnel decisions. And what the hell he did benching Malcolm Butler in SB LII against the Eagles was insanity. You don't bench your starting corner the day of and expect to win.

Oh well. There's a gaping hole in my football heart right now that needs filling.

Pretty amazing that at one point early in the season I was saying the Patriots maybe had their best set of receiver threats at one time ever. Then to see them all shipped out long before the season was up.

Dysfunctional handling of that role over the years has been maybe the Patriots only weakness you could ever count on.
