They didn't have a margin of error.

Brieda fumble really hurt though obviously they got an easy score back with the fumble by the Falcons so that evens out the breaks.

Obviously the plan was not to double Julio.

Kittle fumbling ended up costing us the game. He was getting a 1st down on that play

But the defense couldn't step up the final 2 drives again

I can't lay this one on Kittle; we would have been blown out without him. But on the final drive when everyone knew the Falcons had to throw it to Julio, our pass rush decided to relax and we stubbornly refused to double Jones. Doubling Jones would have forced Ryan to take more time to find a secondary receiver; maybe our dormant pass rush could have delivered a coverage sack then. One sack would have ended the game and we couldn't deliver one when we needed it.

That was always going to be determined by the last game at Seattle.

Need to win against the Lambs first for that last week to be meaningful

1) Seems the defense has forgotten how to play football in clutch situations the last few weeks.
2) The offensive line was pretty awful today.
3) This game was a perfect example of why this team needs a better WR corps.

Fortunately there is some help coming down the line to help with #1. However that is not the case with #2 and #3, those groups are what they are to finish the season. They are going to have to find a way to play better.

I've been saying that all year. And I still believe it.

However, the team DEFINITELY isn't winning the SB without Sherman & Dee Ford.

And I don't know what Ben Garland was doing on the field today. Brunskill is clearly the best OL who didn't start the season.

Dee Ford & Ronald Blair being out means Solomon Thomas lines up at DE on passing downs. That's not a recipe for success.

You guys are ridiculous. We’ve lost 3 games all year. All of our losses are on last second plays. 2 of those losses were to division leaders in games that could go either way.

Today’s loss came after literally HALF of our starting defense was injured. HALF!!!

I think everyone understands that the defense was extremely depleted, but some of those defensive starters aren't coming back (DJ Jones, Kwon & probably Tartt).

Like I said before, Sherman & Ford don't play: no SB this year. That should be pretty clear. Same with Kittle.

And even if all 3 of those guys are healthy, they've gotta figure out what they're doing with the OL. Today's performance is not gonna cut it in the postseason. I don't understand playing Garland at all.

I mean literally every NFL team does that.. as to why he thought anyone can guard Julio 1 on 1 is pure stupidity & why he got exposed today

1Z is suspiciously absent with his sarcastic "Fire Saleh!" posts.

Saleh sucks & always has.

Even if those issues are figured out, the team needs to figure out which receiving Corp plans on showing up to games. The team in general played a lifeless game, but I thought Jimmy and his cadre of WRs took a step back yesterday. The group didn’t even break what, 50 yards if you remove Kittle’s numbers. I get it, the ultimate trap game but the team lacks quality experience and the depth is thinning out.

Had this team been relatively healthy, they have a great shot at it but with the state of the team, I think it’s more likely they lose the next two games as opposed to winning them. Case in point, the defensive line has been ravaged by injuries and the fatigue is showing. Defenses that start out hot typically fade later in the season.

Finally I don’t want to put out an assumption on Tartt because there’s a chance we’ll see him in the postseason. They’re describing his situation as a fractured rib - timetables vary on those but it’s typically a 4-6 recovery and worse if it involves ribs 1-3. They didn’t disclose, and definitely won’t,the severity of his issue.
