Yeah, in terms of realistic stars (or really past-prime stars in this market), there's not much that makes sense for us. Most of the legit guys just got locked up this past summer and/or are on currently contending teams.

If there is a trade out there for nunn or whoever, I think it would be more like a young C on a rookie contract or something.

Would you do Nunn for Bamba? Risky.

tbh i dont follow bamba closely enough to say (though i know a lot of people here like him), but yeah he would be the general archetype of player that would be good for us

He'd be super nice next to Bam. Legit 7 footer, stretch 5, shot blocker...wonder how much the Magic rate him. He's their backup 5 for the forseeable future, but old mate Khem Birch started infront of him recently when Vuc was out. Go figure.

Could be the Spo method of rotation preservation, but who knows

Think Bamba has bene on a mins restriction, but could be wrong. Regardless, unless they deal Vucevic, he's stuck as a 15 minute a game player. Can't imagine he's thrilled.

What would his trade value be? Was a top 5 pick, but hasn't show a lot so far.

Bamba is like 2-3 years away from being net positive, if he's not a bust

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse star Dion Waiters’ most recent suspension was caused, at least in part, by the fact that he called in sick to the Miami Heat and then posted photos of himself on a boat on Instagram, according to multiple media reports.

The connection between the photos and the suspension was first reported by Ethan Skolnick of Five Reasons Sports Network, who cited three anonymous sources. It was later confirmed by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, who noted the photos were not the sole reason for the suspension but did play a role in the decision.

Being sick is different than a injury. You can attend a game being injured. Dion did not come to practice or the game because he said he was too sick to be around people. But he went partying on a boat with friends and filming it. He wasnt fishing by himself having peace time with fam. He was flossing, getting it in on a boat.

I had a boss who did the same thing and was fired. He called out sick, took that time to take his family to disney world. During the same time his boss was on vacation at disney world at the same dam time and ran into each other.

Before Waiters’ third suspension that began last week, the Heat hadn’t ruled out playing Waiters if the team had a flurry of injuries or if he comported himself impeccably over several weeks.

But his latest violation of team rules - resulting in his third suspension - has left Miami determined to move on, according to two sources.

One source said every option is “on the table” in trying to achieve that, noting the preference is to keep him away so that he doesn’t hurt team chemistry.

The Heat is open to a buyout of the final year-and-a-half of his contract, but Waiters at this point has been disinclined to accept anything less than $12.1 million he’s owed this year and the $12.7 million he’s due to make next season.

Unless Waiters is willing to consider sacrificing some salary in a buyout - and he eventually might - the most realistic resolution in the interim could involve Waiters and the team agreeing for him to continue to be paid while staying away from the team.

Waiters’ agent, Rich Paul, has declined to comment on the situation.

Lol, bro I get that you like him, but that's not true at all. Offense has always been more valued. And it's not like he's out there making all defense NBA teams either

I'd pay him what he wants and chalk it up to an L. Nobody going's to trade for him, so you're essentially paying him to sit at home anyway. Might as well scrub your hands of him for good.

it is true. I get that you dont like him, but plenty of guys have walked through these doors specializing in one area and have actually helped us win chips without making any all NBA teams.

Haslem's defense was instrumental to us winning our first championship, he never made an all defensive team. Battier averaged 6 points a game in 2012, shooting 34% from 3 but stepped up and had a great Finals against OKC, he wasn't all nba defense at that juncture of his career. Chalmers had a big game that helped us win. You need to lay off the liquor.

Remember the 2014 season when Joakim Noah was an all-star, DPOY, and top 5 in MVP voting?

Bam's stats and measured impact on the game this season (so far) are essentially on par with Noah's that season across the board. The main difference is that Bam is a marginally better scorer.

Noah being top 5 in MVP voting was such a sham in hindsight
