Really need to pick up a serviceable big somewhere. Can't roll out Kanter, Theis and Poirier and expect to things to go well. Surely we could have spent Poirier's money on someone that actually belongs in the league...

Tacko was on the bench last game right? Maybe he could get a few minutes?

Smart's eye infection is probably conjunctivitis. Highly contagious, usually takes 7 days, if you let the infection run its course. It could be treated by an opthalmic solution though, which shortens the duration of the infection to 3 days max.

Sounds like something else. What I am reading says most often caused by stress fracture, arthritis, an infecrion or cancer.

(Sorry--I was reading about a bone marrow edema, which I guess is different.)

If it wasn't so sad it would be funny. How does someone even get a double eye infection that takes them out of action for > 1 week? What are the odds of that? Never even heard of it before...

    Edema means swelling.

    We never say “an” edema.
We say “there is” edema or “there is an area of” edema or “there is an edematous area”.
    Many causes including trauma/bruising.
Whoever wrote that sentence has never seen the word.

As I posted a week ago, the issue is the organism at the root of the conjunctivitis (viral most often, but can be bacterial, fungal etc) or whether this is infectious keratitis (involving the cornea). If it was a simple viral conjunctivitis, it would be resolved by now. We can be assured that he has seen the best ophthalmologists out there. This sucks.

Viral conjunctivitis can have a duration over a week if it starts in an eye and later in 1-3 days is in the another one, also it depends on the grade. But maybe it's a bacterial one.
I had a conjunctivitis and it was strong, I had to use even a product with cortisone and antibiotic just to keep it controlled and help to heal it, the doctor said that it was likely a viral one but in few cases you need to use cortisone and(or antibiotic to keep the eye as clean and strong as possible to have a better recovery and because you can develop other eye infections or problems.
